Account Manager - Pharmaceutical Industry

This Business is looking for a successful Account Manager to join their thriving Healthcare Practice.

The Account Manager will be leading implementation across two/three global key accounts and be a crucial team member for new business pitches. This will be an active role where day to day management of broader practice operational activities

The candidate will have the ability to drive project and client management, be the main relationship holder with media and key stakeholders, have confidence in digital communications and social media whilst always ensuring account structure and profitability are streamlined.

Coaching junior team members will be vital for this role.


Job Title: Account Manager

Salary: ~£35,000 - £40,000

Location: Central London


The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Sound knowledge of Pharmaceutical client personnel
  • Understanding business goals and seek out opportunities to expand the business
  • Keeping the client updated on all activities
  • Keeping a close eye on news relating to client’s therapy areas and products and review their impact on the client.
  • Renewals: outstanding programme delivery resulting in client renewals
  • Cross-selling: Networking with the client company to acquire new programmes outside current spec.
  • Up-selling: Finding new additional activities with existing clients that add value to the client.
  • Development of budgets to provide the client with programmes to meet their communication needs.
  • Finding RFP’s through in-depth client interactions
  • Account expansion




Required Experience:

  • It is essential that all applicants have agency experience
  • Good knowledge of medical communications, digital publishing and pharmaceutical industry
  • Candidate will ideally already be working at Account Manager level or a Senior Account Executive ready to progress with their career.
  • An understanding of relevant industry guidelines
  • Track record of organic growth and managing client relationships
  • Evidence of delivery of revenue targets
  • Determined and committed to exceed
  • Comprehensive experience with key opinion leaders, third party suppliers and management of clients.
