Analytics Director

Build a team & analytics offering!

** Major UK Retail Clients **

The Person

Creative, Collaborative, Adept at Complex Problem Solving and Critical Thinking.

We are looking for someone to provide simple, compelling analytical solutions to end clients across a variety of industries including Retail and FMCG.

It is important that you are perceived as a leader within the business, bringing your team, colleagues, stakeholders and clients on the journey to truly transforming this agency’s analytics offering and providing a range of marketing and customer analytical services. You should be adaptive, solutions focused, hungry for the opportunity, and have the energy for it!

You will have a collective mindset, will thrive working in collaboration with others in order to grow a market leading, commercially  successful, analytics offering. You won’t be deterred by challenges and will naturally take a solutions focused approach.

The Role

In order to be successful in this role you will need to build strong relationships with the Commercial team (from junior through to senior level) in order to help them understand how to sell analytics propositions to clients, identify opportunities for new business wins and work in collaboration with the analytics function to deliver exciting and cutting edge analytical solutions and products.

You should also have a deeper understand of the broader business requirements, rather than just the analytical client, when dealing with stakeholders and working to understand their pain points and in turn providing appropriate solutions.

We need someone who can be ‘the expert in the room’ during pitches and meetings, and create a ‘way of working’ for the UK office.

Ultimately you will be helping the agency to use data to sell propositions, making it easy for colleagues to access reports and information through the creation of tools (automated reporting for example), which then frees up time to do more advanced work.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in data science, predictive analytics and modelling to join a company which is really focused on developing this area. You also have the chance to shape the analytical capability for this global organisation, so you should be confident coming into a role which has huge potential for growth and ownership.

You will be managing 1 Principal Analyst; however, as the proposition develops, you will also be expected to build and manage a team as well as remaining hands on yourself to help upskill and lead, technically, from the front.

The agency are moving towards a cloud based set up, so any experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform would be viewed favourably as well as personable knowledge and experience with machine learning techniques. They are also excelling in using R and Python to deliver projects for clients, especially within the Paris team, who are also helping to upskill the existing UK resource.

The GM, who you will work very closely with is a hugely charismatic individual, with the gusto, ambition, experience and passion to provide all the support, cheerleading and rigour you may need to make this agency a market leader in this field. He himself is a real selling point for this role, given his approachable, genuine and likeable character. He also holds enormous businesses credentials having spent many years in senior level positions within the retail market and financial services industry, a highly commercial individual who will not only asks the absolute best from his teams, but rewards with a fun, social working environment, importance placed on relationships and collaborative working as well as delivering profit.

So, if you have a background in analytics management and keen to work in a client facing capacity, this role would be a great next step.
