Role: B2B Marketing Manager
Location: London office (near to London Bridge), likely 2 days from office per week only
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 plus benefits

What’s your pathway to a Marketing Directorship look like?

Do you specialise in one subject matter area up to a ‘Head Of’ and then try to make the jump but realise there’s a lot of knowledge gaps because you specialised throughout your career?

Or do you go broad and remain broad, so you’re able to confidently cover all bases. But recognise roles which offer you this kind of opportunity aren’t so abundant, certainly at the more junior level at least?

Well, this opportunity reflects the latter.

What you’ve found is a broad B2B marketing opportunity. One which handles a lot of different channels, both on and offline. Including events, social media, digital marketing, PR, digital performance, case studies and sales enablement.

It’s the kind of role which will fully prepare you to be ready for that Marketing Director position in a few years time.

Sure, it will start off with more operational delivery than strategy. But that’s just because you’ll be learning lots about their business, the customers and how to drive results.

Once you’re confident, your remit will expand to strategy too.

This is a replacement hire, for someone who grew in the business from this role into a senior marketing position, and after five years with the business was ready to step out and take on their own Directorship post.

It’s because of how this role and business works by investing in their people this was possible, and is the roadmap for your success too.

The heart of this marketing programme is really all about lead generation. Their sales team uses a number of ABM principals, with the marketing team aligning to this and supporting their efforts. There isn’t a need for you to have prior ABM experience coming into this role though, but it’s something you will end up picking up as you go along.

About the company

The business specialises in data solutions for the marketing industry. They’re a mid-sized firm and have a relatively small marketing function of 4, with you reporting to the Director.

Sales cycles be anything from quick win small value deals, to big ticket six-figure annual arrangements which can take months of lead nurturing through various marketing campaigns, content, events, etc. to convert.

One of the bigger programmes of work over the next three years will be a customer acquisition drive to one of their automated digital platforms. They’re looking to drive a six-fold increase in the number of customers who have engaged with the service.

Their industry alignment has a good mix to it too. With roughly 70% of revenues realised through financial services currently. They’re seeing huge growth in demand from retail, charity, utility and telco customers too.

So if all this ticks boxes for you and you’d be interested in knowing more, why not apply today?
