Job Title:          Business Director – Gaming (Top-tier integrated marketing agency)
Salary:
            £70,000 to £75,000
Location:          Central London

If you’re a senior Client Services Marketer who knows what Bethesda did which alienated their audience? Why EA got in trouble with Disney? Or what Valkyrae, Muselk and LazarBeam have in common (besides Fortnite). Then you’re probably a true gamer, and will likely love this.

The client is a publishing giant in the gaming world. They don’t look to follow in others’ footsteps and have a suite of franchises which are each best sellers across categories.

You will be a key business leader for this Global account. The agency was awarded ‘Global lead’ status a number of years ago and as such, lead all strategy and planning for campaigns and promotional marketing efforts across all channels for every title in the client’s stable, and across every international market.

Leading a team of 10 Client Services marketers, overseeing all media and comms planning output for 20 markets, whilst also working in partnership with the agency’s other offices in the US.

They want their marketing to push boundaries, staying ahead of trends and movements in customer interests, perceptions and engagement channels. Their content and creativity should do the same. Never standing still, never relying on what’s gone before. Always looking for innovation and ways to stand out.

They move with intent and ambition, having delivered cross-channel approaches through linear and digital, livestreams, social takeovers and customer integrations for some of the client’s biggest franchises campaigns.

This next year will be no different. The stable of work will cut across the company’s portfolio, supporting existing and well-established annualised franchise launches, emerging ones looking to continue their success with further launches, and also new titles yet to prove themselves.

Because of the importance of this role, they’re really looking for someone to come from an agency background, having worked Global accounts on fully integrated/TTL campaigns and marketing programmes.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Leadership remit overseeing client services teams. Providing strategic thinking and heavy lifting, as well as owning client relationships and ensuring the client delivery exceeds expectations
  • Have worked across marketing and media planning, comms planning and client services. Able to demonstrate key successes and achievements
  • Passion for gaming/entertainment, ideally having worked with relevant brands in those industries before
  • Expert pitcher – confident in delivering new business proposals, securing future pipeline work with clients
  • Comfortable in international environments. Providing matrix leadership to teams based in multiple locations
  • Good knowledge of international media planning. So can understand how each market may nuance, and most effective strategies to employ to achieve results
