Cloud Data Scientist

** Top 5 UK Media Agency **

LOCATION:         Remote / Central London

SALARY:               £45k - £55k

  • Are you a frustrated Software Developer looking to move into data science?
  • Or perhaps a Business Analyst with the right grounding in machine learning?
  • Keen to work in a more sophisticated data environment, using more advanced data science techniques and tools?

If this is you, then let me tell you about a Media Agency which can offer you exposure to rich Big Data from huge global brands, and a steep career trajectory to data science!

Working amongst a team of 60 marketing Intelligence experts (a team which has grown from just 5 people in 4 years), you will be taking on projects under your Directors guidance focusing on new data science methodologies, innovation and leveraging cloud-based technologies to help clients grow their businesses; improved media and advertising performance, solving business problems, building audiences, automating processes.

All the projects delivered by the team have a commercial impact, and are solutions led, so you won’t be given prescriptive briefs to work to – it’s all about being creative and delivering the best possible solution for your clients.

Working with a range of cloud platforms including GCP (internally in the main), and AWS and Azure for specific external client projects, you will have the opportunity to learn and gain exposure to a variety of different tech stacks.

The line manager is very open to people who need training on the job, who are eager to learn and keen to grow quickly – most of the people in this team (including the line manager) have been promoted at least once during their first two years, so if you’re ambitious this is the environment for you! And in terms of future career development path there are many you can take; continue to work in a business facing, business problem solving capacity leveraging machine learning to do so/focus on the technical development side, working to build out innovative tools and products for clients/go down the software route, and develop further expertise in cloud and software platforms – all whilst (eventually) managing a team!

Finally, the interview process will involve a task where you will need to build a machine learning model, so you need to have this experience already, as well as the right attitude and approach to self-manage, take ownership and work in a client facing capacity.
