Role: Data Engineer

Location: Central London, Zone 1

Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 + Benefits

Imagine applying Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to something that was invented in 1804. The association between cloud technology and trains has changed a lot in 200 years – from steam power all the way to Amazon Web Services.

The objective is to provide data-driven solutions to piston driven problems – through the predictive analytics of real-time and historical data on a massive scale. This is new ground, and could be one of the influential technological leaps in rail travel and freight in a very long time.

The team needs a Data Engineer to come in and dedicate themselves to the development of new data pipelines, and maintenance of old – bridging the gap between the most innovative software and hardware, and machine learning algorithms. Someone who can come in and join a collaborative team, sharing the ambitions they have to take things to the next level.

What You’ll Need

  • Very strong python background, developing ETL pipelines
  • Experience working on AWS
  • S3, Athena, QuickSight, EC2, Batch, Lambda, DynamoDB, Amazon ES, CloudFormation

What You’ll Get

  • At least 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus 3 privilege days over Christmas
  • Pension matched up to 8%
  • Life assurance scheme (6x salary)
  • Private healthcare scheme, paid for by the company (staff just pay the tax on it)
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free eye tests
  • Free flu vouchers before Winter
  • Free fruit once a week
  • Tax saving loan scheme for bikes and cycling accessories
  • Various well-being initiatives throughout the year
  • Flexible working hours, ad hoc remote working
  • Season ticket loans available for London roles
