Data Protection / Privacy Solicitor / Manager - hybrid role but must be able to get to Kent and/or London for meetings.

This is a fantastic newly created in-house role for a large multi-company commercial organisation.  The role has been created to build data privacy expertise within the teams that deal with third parties so that the increasing levels of data privacy due diligence, technical assessments (including international transfers) and assurance is carried out.  This role will involve but is not limited to:

• Providing technical data protection expertise to the project teams as they work through the projects and devise the strategy for improved data privacy third party compliance.
• Developing, implementing and maintaining a sustainable First Line third party data privacy framework.
• Devising and implementing strategy which ensures that the First Line frameworks continue to maintain data privacy compliance in a changing and complex regulatory environment. 
• Robustly leading the negotiation of DP provisions with third parties (and their external counsel) in a wide variety of contracts, including the largest third-party relationships.

To be considered for this role your background will ideally be:

• You will be a qualified Solicitor with a focus on contract negotiation and data privacy expertise and/or BCS certificate in Data Protection, or equivalent with contract negotiation experience and/or Professional Data Protection qualification: PDP / ISEB / IAPP
• At least five years PQE in data privacy and contract negotiation management (with large clients/suppliers).  
• You will ideally have experience of working within the financial services sector.
