We’re looking for someone who’s clued up on the various technologies and tools within the Data Science eco-system. Those which allow for scalability of solutions and enhance the pace at which a business is able to operationalise and implement Machine Learning, NLP and Artificial Intelligence solutions for commercial benefit.

 

This role is not about solving the problems of today, but consulting with the right teams to understand their ambitions and the challenges they face. Identifying where technology solutions may be able to provide a solutions. Building these into business cases, translating into proof of concepts with the idea to demonstrate value and roll out into full deployment.

 

This is a role looking at the art of the possible, ensuring the firm’s data science community are future fit with the right technology to enable them to deliver solutions which meet the business’ needs. With you constantly horizon scanning for opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, speed and unlock innovation through introducing new technology led solutions.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

This is a role which needs to be grounded in delivery. It won’t suit someone with just a theoretical background. As there is the need to establish use cases, pull together the proof of concepts to prove value and lead full roll-out.

 

This will require you to consult with the data science community and engage with the company’s technology divisions. Putting these plans of action into their roadmaps and overseeing their delivery into full use.

 

There’s a large stream of projects here, all centred around improving the company’s commercial use of data, through the scaling of their data science capability and respective toolkit.

 

CHALLENGE THINKING!

 

As part of your consulting process, you will need to dig into the needs of the Data Science functions. Understanding if their thinking aligns correctly, with you applying your subject matter expertise around data science and the respective tools ecosystem to advise the most appropriate solutions.

 

DO AMAZING THINGS

 

There’s circa 70+ projects and a back book of around £150m in play at the moment. The business is very open to embracing change and going through a massive digital shift. In addition to this, they see data as a significant opportunity for competitive advantage and have been heavily investing in their data eco-system future. Hence this role has been created along with an entire division doing similar programmes of work impacting across the business to ensure their commercial use of data is world class.

 

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

 

  • Tools brought in and adopted by the Data Science community
  • Efficiency gained and business potential unlocked/realised
  • Production improvement – e.g. amount of models put into operational use

 

Role:                     Data Science Consultant – Data Science Tech Expert
Location:              Central London
Salary:                  £80,000 to £90,000 (based on experience)
Benefits:               £5k car allowance, 15% bonus, great pension, 25 days leave, flex-bens package and lots more.

 

Experience Required:

  • Solid breadth of knowledge and experience around the data science industry and the tools used – such as Hadoop, R, Python, Scoop, Hive, Pig, SQL
  • Evidence of successfully influencing a firm’s technology roadmap around analytics and data science. Providing recommendations on appropriate tools and solutions
  • Knowledge of automated analytics and self-service analytics programmes and platforms
  • Good understanding of automated modelling and AI technology solutions
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to connect the technology solution to the business problem it’s looking to solve
  • Previous within a data centric management consulting firm in this kind of space will be ideal
  • Experience of business case development and have experience of successfully influencing change within big businesses
  • Must have the necessary visas to live and work within the UK without restriction.
