Data Science Director

** Global Luxury Fashion Brand **

LOCATION -     Remote / Central London

SALARY -        Competitive plus benefits and 15% bonus

A brand new role, which requires a hands on Data Science leader to join this global powerhouse, luxury fashion brand. You have the opportunity to own and build out their brand new global Data Science function, leading from the front on the very latest approaches to data science led CRM personalisation, as well as leveraging these advanced analytics and modelling techniques to drive improved decisions making across the business.

Reporting directly into the VP of Retail Marketing and CRM, you will work alongside an inspiring leader with a credible background in luxury fashion; an energetic and passionate character who loves their job and team, plus they’re a super advocate for the culture and brand, describing the local EMEA and Global teams like a family, where there are huge amounts of support, collaboration and training opportunities.

This household luxury name is described as closer to a high street retailer in its mechanics and pace, and you will be joining a company which has already been heavily invested in Data Science led CRM and personalisation for a number of years, partnering with one of the UK’s most advanced Data Agencies, where they have been leveraging machine learning and AI techniques and solutions to improve the decision making across the business, not just around marketing related topics.

You will also support on the delivery of data science led CRM Data Strategy and Analytics at a global level, harnessing insights and bringing them to the business, elevating this internally and driving CRM performance and strategy from the technology at play.

Example projects include broad briefs such as ‘where and when do we open new stores’, where you will work in partnership with your CRM agency and their in house Data Science team to build machine learning algorithms and models, to answer such questions. And working to ensure AI is at the heart of automation for email marketing, deeper customer understanding comes from machine learning projects and so on.

Fundamentally we need a character who is confident in taking data science and embedding it globally for the brand, engaging and influencing very senior level stakeholders at a regional level, so it goes without saying that gravitas, credibility and confidence are key in owning the Data Science function as well as identifying opportunities for new projects and ways of leveraging their data assets.
