London has been identified as the Centre of Excellence globally for data and is a huge growth area for this agency. In this brand-new role, reporting into the Data & Analytics Director, you will take ownership for building out the Data Science work stream and in turn, a team beneath you. At present, there is an established team of 11 Analysts and Data Scientists, 2 of which would formally report into you and who have the capabilities to deliver to data science and modelling projects. You will work collaboratively with your peers who will also be working to develop the two supporting work streams in CRM & Campaign Analytics, and Strategic Insights – as a team delivering projects across loyalty, strategic analytics & data science and CRM.

 

We are looking for someone to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team in data science and advanced predictive modelling techniques including NLP, machine learning and statistical modelling. You will be an advocate for data science and what this looks like both internally and externally, with clients across finance, retail, media, automotive and technology – some of the biggest brands in the world!

 

       

You will be intellectually curious, dynamic and highly personable with a solutions focused approach to your work. Your work is varied, so the ability to flex and adapt depending on the projects at hand is key. You will have strong programming skills using R and/or Python as well as SQL and ideally have skills in managing people or at least a desire to manage a team (training will be provided). Ultimately, we are looking for someone who’s looking for that next step into management and role which offers them a chance to really own something, and grow this.

           

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

  • Educated to degree level in a quantitative numerate subject
  • Strong coding skills in either R or Python, coupled with SQL
  • Skilled in advanced modelling techniques such as machine learning techniques, NLP, statistical modelling applied in a marketing environment
  • Strong background working with large scale customer and marketing data
  • A desire to manage others – previous management experience is NOT essential, training will be provided
  • Expert in managing client relationships, bring data to life and problem-solving using insights
