LOCATION -         Berkshire

SALARY -              £30k - £55k

This brand-new role forms part of an early stages, start up like team called Demand Forecasting. And whilst this process and type of analytics has been around for many years, the Director, Commercial Forecasting has built an ambitious, modern and exciting three year roadmap which will see the way the business forecasts energy usage and demand in cutting edge way. Through the use of machine learning, automation and modelling, he plans to revolutionise the company’s approach to meeting demand and managing supply. He is passionate and innovative, and seeking like-minded individuals who realise the HUGE potential there is to improve and change the way they deal with customer demand.

It’s a brilliant time to join as the Director sees nothing but growth opportunity for the team and the individuals he employs, meaning you will be on a very steep learning curve. So this would suit an ambitious, confident and innovative thinker, someone who enjoys playing around with the very latest in data science technology, huge amounts of data and working closely with other team members to deliver insights and modelling around customer demand and usage of energy across the UK and other parts of the world.

You will leverage data analysis skills to manage large datasets, sourcing and connecting data, as well as (of course) building machine learning, statistical and deep learning models. You will work very closely with the Operations Managers and Change Managers in the team, to constantly trouble shot and make suggestions around improving models and data (often offering your own skills in order to help make these improvements or solve issues), so strong communication skills are key, as a team player attitude.

Technically they have historically used SAS and SQL, and have recently started using R and Python, so this person will also be expected to come in and work with these open source tools – this is the direction the team and business are headed.

An exciting opportunity to be part of a fast growth analytics and data science team, learning how to leverage the very latest in data science technology and techniques, to understand UK customers.
