ROLE - Data Strategist
LOCATION – Central London twice a week plus work from home
SALARY – £60,000 - £70,000 plus benefits

This brand-new role is being hired as part of strategic growth for the agency group. They are looking to capitalise on their existing data resources to build out what will become a Group function, responsible for driving innovation in the use of data across their agency network.

Historically, the company has delivered data services predominantly around CRM activity, but this new centre of excellence is looking to scale capabilities in data science and data innovation and strategy, coupling them together with creative and innovative ideas in how to marry it all together to drive amazing solutions for their clients.

This will mean stitching together various data sources, analysis and expertise to provide a singular customer view for end clients across media, digital, social, retail and CRM channels. Medium term, 50% of your time will be spent on legacy CRM related data strategy work, whilst the remainder is spent on Data Collective projects, working on cutting edge, creative data strategies.

An example project is looking at how colours and word association to those colours can impact audience or customer engagement; white = ice, green = grass, red = danger .. analysing the psychology of colours in marketing. So awareness, understanding of the power of modern data science approaches can accelerate marketing performance for clients, and working with your peers in this space to build out effective data strategies to support this work.

You will join a small yet agile team of 3 (Senior Analyst & more junior Data Strategist), reporting into Head of Data. Their role is a duel function one, leading on data strategy as well as analytics/data science.

The team has ambitions to start to leverage more advanced data science and AI techniques, setting themselves apart from competitors, supported by multichannel data strategy. So there is huge growth opportunity here. Plus given it’s a brand new position, a real chance to shape the role and really make it your own. There is also a lot of scope for peer learning, working closely with Econometricians, Data Scientists and Digital Analysts across the agency network, and of course fellow planners and strategists too.

Skills required;

  • Educated to degree level in a numerate or relevant subject
  • Ideally agency side experience in a data planning/data strategy role, alternative profiles with transferable skills happily considered (Analytics, CRM)
  • Understanding of measurement and performance frameworks
  • Proven experience in supporting data led campaign activity
  • Good understanding of CRM, lifecycle management and insight platforms
  • Good knowledge of CRM and test and learn practices
  • Superb communication skills and ability to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders including end clients

Must be able to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
