THE OPPORTUNITY

You’ll be working as part of a team of data strategists, ranging from junior through to Director grade. The team supports media and marketing initiatives for a major loyalty scheme, as well as the wider retail group it supports.

You will collaborate with stakeholders from FMCG suppliers to improve category performance, promotions, pricing and other strategic initiatives, as well as working closely with wider the retailer stakeholders (Trading, Marketing, Sales etc.) to mesh together both corporate and category objectives. So, the range of projects will be broad and varied offering you the chance to diversify your data skills at pace, as well as gain exposure to some of the world’s most recognisable brands.

With this in mind, there are huge carer development opportunities here – people from this team have moved on into many different guises; analytics, insights, campaigns, loyalty, digital … and with each individual, the Directors work out personalised development plans which play to your own strengths and ambitions.

They are also very open minded as to your background – you may have come from more of an Analyst background, or perhaps worked in category insights, insights consultancy or client services. Fundamentally, we are seeking people who enjoy using data strategically to solve problems for end users, and can think creatively about the application of data and how it can be used to improve decision making for marketing purposes.

You will need to demonstrate an ability to spot opportunity for data projects as well, work out how the loyalty scheme and the data it generates can continue to optimise marketing performance, customer engagement, loyalty and category performance. All followed through with excellent relationship building skills and a desire to make informed, insightful recommendations on how to improve targeted marketing and customer understanding using data.
