Role: Data Visualisation Manager
Location:
Central London
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 plus benefits

What could be better than giving beauty to something that has none? Taking something complex and hard to understand, giving it life and some essence of beauty by creating clear, concise, easy to interpret and immediately digestible visualisations.

Giving data form. Making it sharable, interesting and simple.

Now consider doing this with an interesting subject matter. Looking at consumer behaviour, media data and performance information, working across both automotive and travel sectors for one of the UK’s biggest media agencies.

To ensure you won’t get bored, you will be part of a team of around 15 people and be one of the technical leads. Imparting knowledge around design principals, ideas for innovation and also technical know-how with Tableau, as well as having the opportunity to learn Datarama and PowerBI yourself.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide project support for different clients across industry, as the team works very collaboratively to share ideas and so you’re likely to get the chance to work across a range of clients which includes clients from FMCG, retail, telco, gaming and lots more.

You’ll need to be comfortable with a hands-on remit, as you will be leading on development build and delivery of new visualisation dashboards for clients. As well as maintaining an existing suite of self-serve reports already in place. Owning the full lifecycle from idea, wireframe, prototyping and into operational use.

You’ll also be going further than technical development by giving meaning to the data. Pulling insights and identifying the stories within, translating these back to both end client and the agency’s client services team.

You can expect this to be a very varied role in a fast paced media environment. There’s always lots of projects to get your hands dirty with and it’s a really collegiate environment too. With plenty of knowledge and support on hand if you get stuck for an idea to see a problem through. The agency is recognised for having a fantastic working environment and have a reputation for being innovative and not afraid to try new things with clients. Indeed, one of the accounts you will be supporting has also been really pushing innovation forward with their use of data in innovative ways and has actually helped shape the agency’s offering with other clients. So if you’re the sort of character who loves open minded clients who love to experiment, you will likely really enjoy it here.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Experience with Tableau ideally. But if you’re more skilled with Datarama and PowerBI, your knowledge here could be put to good use too
  • You’re comfortable handling the full development cycle of data visualisation projects. But are competent with going beyond just this, and able to interpret data results, providing insight through identifying the stories within it
  • Got to have SQL coding skills. Able to use it to write your own queries as well as interrogate data
  • Some knowledge of ETL would be ideal
  • Experience within an agency environment, or gaming/gambling, retail, or having dealt with digital data and producing visualisations from it would be great
