Role: Digital Corporate Communications Manager
Location: Hybrid - in office twice a week. Heavily subsidised travel (75% off).
Salary: Up to £45,000 plus benefits

First thing to highlight, this role is covering a secondment. It’s scheduled to run for a minimum of 6 months. That tenure could certainly extend further as the secondment is aligned to getting a new business area off the ground.

It’s also worth highlighting the hiring manager for this position is also very empathetic to this method of entry to the business. As they too joined on a fixed term engagement and transitioned across to a permanent engagement.

Now onto the role itself.

You’ll be joining at a time where the business is dealing with a lot of meaty challenges a really aspirational communications professional should love to get to grips with.

Your work will be incredibly high profile. Pulling together as well as covering the organic newsworthy stories from around the business. Putting an almost journalistic lens on things to identify the interest angle and communicate that in the content pieces you pull together and publish.

Visibility will be through the company’s corporate facing website as well as over social channels, which are principally Twitter and LinkedIn.

You’re going to have agency support for things like upgrades to the website or CMS management. So there’s nothing technical for you to need to do here.

Your focus is really on the creation of engaging content. Sometimes turning what could be perceived as ‘boring’ at first glance into something newsworthy and engaging. Finding the angle which will resonate with the appropriate audience.

In addition, there’s going to be some really interesting crisis communications to get your teeth into, and it’s the kind of things which will make headlines. So could be some really valuable experience to get under your belt.

The team you’ll be joining are a really friendly bunch. It’s also one of the deciding factors the line manager here took a permanent position with the company during their contract engagement. Stating it’s one of the rare places he’s been in his career where people genuinely seem to care about each other, and make it feel like you belong to something more than just a workplace.

So if you’re looking for something which will be an interesting cerebral challenge and opportunity to really flex your content and copy creation skills. Whilst also handling some really high profile, visible corporate comms projects. Why not apply today?

Experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience in content creation – working with a business to identify the news worthy angle to things happening in and around the organisation
  • Have experience of working with businesses going through change, handling communications on behalf of them
  • Ideally have some experience with crisis communications of some type
  • Experience of writing for the web and social content channels on behalf of a business
  • If you’ve ever had experience of working for a trade body or government agency doing any of the above, would be ideal.
