Role:                     Digital Marketing Executive
Location:             Maidstone based offices, likely 2-3 days a week
Salary:                  Up to £28,000 basic
Benefits:             Good performance based bonus, pension, 25 days leave plus lots more.

Notice how most digital roles you’ve read online tend to push you down a specialisation right from the start? Looking for PPC specialists, or SEO specialists. It's not so common to find one which covers most of it.

Perhaps you’re looking for the kind of role which will keep your scope and growth opportunities open, by giving you scope to work across most digital channels. Helping to develop you as a broad digital marketer, and helping to smooth the career path to getting that future Director role, as you will have this foundation build of knowing how all the channels work?

What you’ll be covering will include social media, paid media channels, SEO, CRO, native, affiliates and email.

Before you gulp and wonder if it’s too much, you’re not doing it alone. You’ll have the support of a very knowledgeable and credible Digital Marketing Manager who’s going to involved in this too, as well as coaching and supporting you.

Additionally, you’ll have agency support for each channel. So you will be briefing work out to them, critiquing their responses or suggested actions. As well as have the courage of your own conviction to know when and what to challenge in what the agencies are delivering, to ensure they’re able to deliver the right outcomes.

You will be getting your hands dirty with most of this, but you don’t have to know all the in’s and out’s, as they appreciate it’s a relatively junior role, and a great learning opportunity for someone.

So a real interest in developing your career in digital marketing and a pro-active attitude to learning will go a long way with this one. As there’s so much scope for growth and progression in role too.

Team wise, you’ll be joining the acquisition marketing function. It’s a really well-oiled machine and they’ve been delivering some outstanding business performance over the last year. There’s some real high flyers in the division and some great people to learn from.

They’re also a really close knit team and operate in a really supportive, family centric manner. Which directly aligns to how the wider business operates too. They’ve got a big focus on ensuring their people are engaged, and that work and life are well balanced. It stems from their parent company and is something which has led to them having one of the longest staff tenures in industry.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS

You’ll be joining a global business with more than 10,000 people, specifically within the head office of one of their subsidiaries, principally a consumer healthcare tech brand. One which despite its size, represents really good family values.

They’re a firm whose story is unlike most I recruit for. During the pandemic they did some amazing things for their people. Going above and beyond expectations and really defined the bar for what a business claiming family values should be.

It’s no surprise this firm has such incredible tenure and retention rates. So it’s the kind of place I’m proud to recruit for.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • A commercial grounding in digital marketing, and a good basic understanding of some of the channels within digital performance
  • You understand the key elements around looking at performance, and know what a cost per lead is, or how A/B testing is done
  • You’re confident in your ability to work with agency partners. Briefing them out effectively, critiquing their responses and able to push back where necessary
  • You’re pro-active in your learning and can demonstrate how, in your career to date, you’ve been the kind of person who’s been confident tackling problems, skilling up on your knowledge gaps and love opportunities to grow and learn.
