Director of Solutions 

Up to £90,000 p/a + £6.5k Car Allowance + 10-15% bonus

This Director level role will lead the Solutions team who provide personalised insights, training and facilitation to its members. We’re not just looking for you to have a background in FMCG & Research, we want to know you have a genuine passion for the food and consumer goods industry.

The growth potential within the Solutions team is huge, and we are looking for a progressive commercial leader to unlock this opportunity.

Whilst leading the Solutions team, your time will be spent:

  • Leading the Solutions product team, a team of seven dedicated FTE
  • Owning and developing the Solutions products they take to market
  • Working in partnership with customer teams to identify opportunities and create solutions to solve customer challenges
  • Customer-facing delivery to leadership team level
  • Ensuring ongoing development of the IP that underpins their solutions

You will need to have expert knowledge of the relationship between wholesalers and retailers in the food industry, as one example - understanding the full supply chain and all the intricacies.

Key Qualities:

Extensive knowledge of and a passion for the grocery retail market

Consultancy experience – track record in being customer centric, having a partnership mindset.

Leadership – ready to drive dynamism to the team whilst embedding the highest standards

Approach – The commercial executive team make decisions using product, customer, brand and digital lenses with a partnership mindset in all they do – You will be expected to model that collaborative approach.

You’ll lead the Solutions product team, own the Solutions product and product plan, be responsible for Solutions delivery including being financially accountable for the P&L success

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, BEHAVIOURS

  • Extensive experience of, and passion for, the consumer goods industry
  • Deep understanding of the commercial interface between retailers & manufacturers
  • A confident and progressive individual with a forward-looking growth mindset
  • Leadership experience in B2B consultancy, advisory services or training programmes
  • Excellent, proven leadership skills, good team builder and coach with change management experience
  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to create commercial opportunities and maximise value
  • Credibility at Board level with strong influencing capability
  • Strong programme and project management skills
  • Collaborative approach with partnership mindset
  • A dynamic individual, self-motivated and driven

You will be required to work from home until distancing restrictions are eased. We do not envisage you needing to be in the office 5 days a week once things are back to normal. However, you will need to live within a commutable distance, approx 1 hour from the Watford are. At this level of role you may be needed at a moments notice to attend meetings.
