Ecommerce Manager, Luxury Consumer Goods
Location – UK Home based principally with London meet ups with the team
Salary: Base up to £65,000 plus benefits

Nothing kills your ability to sell something at a premium than a typo on your ecommerce shop page.

It immediately undermines consumer confidence, raising questions of the level of care, attention and quality checking a brand has about themselves.

But you know this, as you know what makes good, distinctive and engaging marketing for luxury products, right?

But do you know how to give people the right experience in ecommerce to give them confidence to part with a couple hundred Pounds for a product they’d typically want to experience before committing that kind of money to?

A space where everything is ‘one of one’ – unique and different. Totally personalised to them, and of such high quality, you know when you see it, it’s something really special.

This will be your challenge.

You’ll be joining a business which has been trading successfully in this area for the past 5+ years. It’s a business which is scaling up and taking the next step on their journey. Scaling up teams and creating more specialised and focused position for people to take ownership of. Really helping th business increase its footprint and marketing share.

As Ecommerce Manager, your first priority will be to review the current state of play with the ecommerce estate. It’s a Shopify platform, but could do with a review to identify where quick wins could be made to improve performance. Ensuring there’s a good foundation in place to build from.

The next will be site performance optimisation, and there’s a recognised opportunity with this to really improve results. So needs a keen eye with the data to understand where priorities are and what could be improved.

In addition, you will have the support of an ecommerce co-ordinator who will help you in delivering these element. With your role straddling between thinking and doing. So you’ll need to be comfortable flipping between the two, and rolling up sleeves and getting into the weeds with projects. Nothing this business is still in growth mode, so the team is small, but building.

You’ll have support of a very experienced Consultant to the business. Someone who’s worked in both luxury and beauty industries for many years at senior levels, and has built and run digital teams for a host of big, established brands. They’re there to help with some delivery, but also someone for you to bounce ideas off and strategies by.

You’ll also have the support of a web-dev agency for the build side of things. But to set out the right strategies for development and improvement opportunities. You’ve got to be comfortable being able to pull data together around trading, site experience and digital data. Drawing decisions from this which inform what needs to be done and how.

You’ll be feeding these ideas and strategies into the Founders directly, who are very involved in the day to day running of the business and keeping abreast of everything. You’ll also be engaging with a range of other teams from product, design, marketing, finance, etc. and will find they’re a really together and on mission operation. Really slick in their processes and well organised.

In terms of office set ups – they have an East London studio, but there’s no particular need to commute. They do relatively regular London meet ups, and there will be a need to attend these. But most of the time you’ll find you’re working from home.
