Email Marketing Executive (Account Manager)
Working set up: 8 days a month in office via booking rota
Office location: Central London, on the Thames
Salary: Up to circa £35,000 plus benefits.

What makes a good Account Manager opportunity working for a marketing agency?

Good agency reputation?
Good client roster?
Good quality work?
Great people to work with?

All of the above?

Whilst this agency isn’t one of the big network ones, their reputation with clients is as being dependable, producing high quality work.

Lots of their relationships have been established for many years, including the ones you’ll be handling here.

You’ll be joining a team of 4, made up of an AD, SAM, AM and AE. All whom work across the agencies roster of utility clients.

The principal bias of work is centred around email campaigns across the customer lifecycle. There is some element of dabbling with customer data and using SQL, and the principal ESP’s are Adobe Campaign and IBM Acoustic.

You’ll be client facing and have opportunity to grow the service offering of the business with clients, notably because they’re pushing for more upstream work, getting involved in the strategic decision making to help improve business results for clients.

So there’s also the potential grow your scope in role as you and the team land more of these kind of projects too.

One of the big things they’re keen on seeing is ambition. If you’ve got a sharp eye on growing your career agency side, wanting to move up through the ranks to SAM and AD levels in future, and get what needs to be achieved to make that happen, they’d be keen to have you as part of the team. There’s many examples already of people in the business who have been recognised and rewarded for their efforts and contributions in this way, including the hiring manager for this particular opportunity.

So beyond the role, what’s unique and interesting about this opportunity?

The company is principally data and CRM based agency who work with wide range of large-scale, high profile brands. In many instances they also host their data warehouses for them too.

Client relationships are well established, and there’s even scope for projects to go up the funnel more, as the business is building its footprint with clients on more strategic agenda projects too.

The company describes themselves as a ‘big family’, and as such, not only do people enjoy what they do. But they enjoy being with the people they’re doing it with. One such example of this was with the amount of former team members who look to re-join the business years later. That’s not something you hear as a recruiter every day.

What’s going to help you land this role?

  • Data centric CRM and email marketing experience gained in an agency environment
  • Basic knowledge of SQL will be beneficial
  • Experience with IBM Acoustic or Adobe Campaign for email marketing
  • Good project management and communication skills, comfortable engaging with clients, presenting and sharing ideas and proposals, as well as taking and shaping briefs
