Epidemiologist/Data Scientist - Pharmaceutical Industry

 

Overview:

To produce, design, and distribute relevant epidemiological and real world data studies in order to drive innovative strategies and help with decision making by customers across the Prescription Medicine (PM) portfolio. Also to provide epidemiological support to achieve the objectives of the relevant Franchise Therapy areas.

The key responsibilities for this role are:

 

  • Design and lead the production of successful real-world data and epidemiology studies in order to raise awareness of product specific outcomes and disease. Distribute results and interpretation of these studies throughout the Franchise and Sales teams.
  • Responsibilities include the writing of protocols, data analysis, securing of internal protocol sign off and the creation of reports and manuscripts, in collaboration with Corporate Epidemiology / Market Access.
  • Produce real world data to guarantee that Health Technology Assessment submissions contain precise epidemiological evidence. Deliver epidemiological and statistical expertise to Health Economists to help aid economic modelling and data analysis for HTA submissions

 

  • Analyse market information using real world data sources to improve your knowledge of our customers and brands

 

  • Working cross-functionally across teams and is a recognised authority, making sure that brand strategies and tactics are influenced by Market Access

Required Experience:

 

Education: professional qualification to Degree Level in Mathematics, statistics or related discipline and relevant post-graduate qualification, e.g. PhD in Epidemiology

Experience:

  • Knowledge of epidemiological methods and medical statistics connected with epidemiology
  • Proven Knowledge of managing epidemiological data
  • Knowledge and expertise of running epidemiological studies, this includes proposal writing to publication of results
  • Knowledge of statistical methods applied to health economics would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of CPRD
