Head of Business Development & Licensing – Biotechnology Industry

Flexible location/WFH/Global Travel

Overview

Working with a Global leading Biotechnology company who have an exciting pipeline focused on developing clinically challenging products, using innovative drug delivery technologies. Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Business Development will be part of a team passionate about making a difference for patients using proprietary technologies and products. 

Job Title: Head of Business Development

Salary: £80’000 - £100’000 (Negotiable / Guide only)

Location: Flexible location/WFH/Global Travel

This is an interesting opportunity where you will be primarily focused on identifying and setting up licensing deals and partnerships with biopharmaceutical companies in the Oncology, Rare Disease and Haematology therapeutic and technology areas.

You will be responsible for:

  • Drive, lead, create and manage a business development pipeline utilising your existing network of business along with your creativity to source prospective pharma/biotech clients and partners and licensing deals
  • Identify and generate new prospects and opportunities, manage existing prospects and develop new propositions, to secure licensing transactions and collaboration deals
  • Develop and manage relationships with potential clients, influencers and key stakeholders
  • Perform proposal/deal development, contract reviews and lead negotiations of licensing and collaboration transactions
  • Manage proposals, submissions and bids
  • Develop and analyse medical and business cases to ensure value adding propositions to convince prospective licensing partners
  • Contribute to the strategic and tactical effort around partner acquisition
  • Maximise key account relationships, negotiations to ensure partnership and alliance to remain a strong pipeline partner
  • Formulate business development strategy, develop marketing plans, participate in industry trade shows and other related events
  • Create future strategic business relationships to execute on business development strategy
  • Reach and develop a network with C-level partners to drive business
  • Continually developing the brand and building increasing awareness in the marketplace
  • Develop an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the rest of the market and competitors, monitoring competitors and reviewing/shaping the offering in light of competitors developments
