Role:                     Head of Multi-Channel Performance Marketing
Location
:             Maidstone
Salary:                  £70,000 to £80,000
Benefits:             Annual bonus, pension, healthcare, life assurance

I bet you thought you’d have to go to London for a senior level opportunity like this, offering a decent marketing budget to play with, team and challenging remit?

You’ll be joining a global business with more than 10,000 people, specifically within the head office of one of their subsidiary, principally consumer healthcare tech, brands. One which despite its size, represents really good family values.

First thing to highlight, this isn’t a pure digital performance role. It’s a part of the remit, but this will cover on and offline direct response marketing channels.

The second thing to say you’re not going to be inheriting something that’s fundamentally broken. Sure, there’s certainly scope for improvement, but their performance channels are delivering volume. However the immediate challenge will be to maintain and build on this whilst also looking into the sales funnel, as the biggest immediate wins can be achieved here.

You’ll need to dig into both people and process, looking at how leads are converted and where hold ups exist and can be ironed out to improve conversion and customer experience.

The channels you’ll managed include:

  • Digital Performance – PPC, SEO & Paid Social
  • Offline - Direct response TV, Press, OOH, email and direct mail

In addition you’ll be responsible for channel innovation. Testing and trailing these to see how they could improve performance and conversion further.

Your budget will be £5m, currently split 50/50 across on and offline. But you can move this around as you see fit to achieve the appropriate volume and value metrics. Keeping a close eye on CPA’s and channel attribution.

Your immediate team will be 4, growing to 6 people, and you’ll also be lent upon to step in for the Marketing Director whenever they’re out of office. So you’re going to be looked at to provide inspiring leadership to quite a decent sized team from time to time too.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • A performance/direct response marketing background covering both on and offline channels
  • Established team leadership credentials hiring, managing and motivating experienced marketers
  • Good knowledge of media planning and buying through agencies
  • Analytical by nature, comfortable digging into CPA rates, able to pull apart channel performance and identify opportunities to drive improvements
  • Capable stakeholder manager and influencer – especially around people and process based changes, as well as handling senior board members of a big firm

Must be able to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
