Insight Analyst

** Digital Comparison Site – Market Leader **

SALARY -            £35k - £50k plus excellent benefits, including lots of training and development opps

LOCATION -        Central London OR Peterborough

We are searching for an experienced CRM or Insight Analyst to join this recognisable digital comparison site, amongst a growing team of Analysts and Data Scientists.

You will be working alongside some very credible data experts who hail from the likes of Aimia and Dunnhumby.

This organisation is hugely invested in data and using this to drive decisioning and targeted marketing across the business, illustrated with the recent appointment of their CDO.

The senior leadership team are ambitious and are keen to grow the division, in order to put data central to the business which is where this role, and a number of other brand-new positions, come in. Due to the number of hires they are looking to make; they are very flexible about the level of individuals they hire and their own personal ambitions.

We are after someone with a strong commercial marketing or customer analytics skill set, who will be working on two streams of work; product and commercial analytics (partnerships, working directly with insurance providers) and developing propositions and offerings for customers. So you will use statistical analysis to improve the performance of customer journeys, making sure they are as effective as possible as well as ensuring customers get the best prices on products.

So not only will you be building out data feeds for partners, you will also be providing them with insights which should inform pricing decisioning and how you both work to promote specific providers. Recent projects include a segmentation build which highlighted colds spots in the customer base, then advising insurance providers on how to take advantage of these through smart price points. Predictive modelling is also a common factor in projects, although experience with building models from scratch is NOT essential – training can be provided! You will also conduct post campaign analysis on particular promotional campaigns, setting up control groups and providing regular reporting. So, the projects are varied and the data is broad and mixed (both characteristics and numerate), offering huge development and growth opportunities. Fundamentally we are after people who enjoy solving business problems using statistical analytical techniques and tools.

Beyond this role and team, there is also the longer term opportunity to move around the business into different teams (customer insight, data science etc.) and Tim has proven to be an excellent manager, growing his two current team members from junior through to top end middle weight Analysts in the space of a year (both are off to new roles internally within customer insight and data science!).You will also need to be business facing, with skills in building relationships with key stakeholders across the whole business to understand requirements, gather briefs and working proactively to deliver value and insights which ultimately aid decision making.

Skills and experience required:

  • Educated to degree level in a numerate subject; Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Machine Learning, Computer Science etc.
  • A strong background in commercial customr analysis, campaign evaluation, segmentation and solving business problems using insights
  • Programming experience with Python or R is ESSENTIAL, as well as skills using SQL
  • Ability to gather and scope requirements for a variety of analytical projects
  • Expert at engaging with senior level client stakeholders and ability to operate at a senior level on projects
