Role: Interim Head of Content Strategy
Location
: UK remote
Rate: £350 - £450 per day (outside IR35)
Term: 3-6 months

This is a neatly defined project, looking to put in place an international content strategy for an Ed-Tech firm’s digital estate. Made up of 40+ websites and a vast amount of share asset sites which sit on branded partner member’s digital estates.

Over the years they’ve established an incredibly vast content lake. But recognise what they’re missing is a cohesive digital strategy for this. Auditing, organising and rationalising what’s currently there. Pulling together a cohesive content ecosystem which enables the content to be scalable in use.

Reviewing content journeys for customers. From lead generation, acquisition and in-life journey communications too. Identifying what might be recurrent usage content too

You’ll be looking for quick wins and solutions and strategies to tackle longer-term strategic challenges. Including a proposed movement from a Sitecore setup to headless platform. So looking at how to organise the content lake in such a way it’s able to deliver to each partner’s needs.

You’re going to need to establish with the Exec team:

  • What the business priorities are
  • What a proper content strategy will help the business achieve, translating this into tangible benefits they can understand and get behind
  • Set out the roadmap for what needs to be delivered, in what priority order, ands what resource is necessary to make it happen
  • What the personalisation strategy for content will be, and how it will be achieved

This initial project is earmarked to take 3 months to carry out the asset review and put together the appropriate strategies.

Once the strategy is delivered and approved, the role may move into implementation stages. At this point there will be further conversations about the potential to move this role into a permanent engagement, or continue the contract engagement – but this may have an impact on the IR35 ruling as the remit will change.

Key Experience Necessary

  • Demonstrable experience overseeing a large-scale content eco-system. With ownership of the content strategy and commercial objectives
  • Digital Content experience gained in a large-scale, content rich digital estate business like higher education, travel, news and media industries, for example
  • Experience in content personalisation strategies
  • If you’ve had experience in a ‘house of brands’ type environment would be beneficial.
  • An analytical and structured mind. Able to make sense of complexity and can demonstrate how you’ve successfully build scalable strategies around content

Must be able to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
