Job Title: IT Network Specialist

Location: South West London 

Salary: £49,178 - £55,492 per annum

Job Overview: The IT Network Specialist role involves maintaining network infrastructure to ensure it meets the evolving needs of services. This position is within the IT Network Services Team and is permanent. The ideal candidate should be self-driven and committed to professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, upgrade, operate, control, maintain, and effectively use local and remote networks for data, voice, text, or images.
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and confidentiality of LAN and WAN services through the management and administration of anti-Malware, Firewall, and Remote Access Services.
  • Implement network controls and procedures to protect information systems from modification, disclosure, or destruction.
  • Handle inquiries, requests for guidance, and investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of IT infrastructure incidents and problems.
  • Investigate and diagnose complex Local and Wide Area Network problems, working with users, staff, and suppliers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Essential Criteria: CISCO Certified Network Associate in Routing and Switching and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a large organization.
  • Desirable Criteria: Cisco Certified Network Professional – Routing and Switching.

Experience:

Essential Criteria:

  • Fault diagnoses and root cause analysis in complex networks
  • Experience maintaining an enterprise-level infrastructure, including fibre optic, wireless using Cisco technologies –, Core and Edge Switches, Routers, ASA’s and Cisco Integrated Services Engine
  • Expert in configuration and change management systems and procedures.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Cisco Prime Network Management Tools, LAN and Wireless
  • Familiarity with quality management systems including development, implementation and maintenance of procedures and policies

Skills:

  • Essential Criteria: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience.
  • Desirable Criteria: Strategic thinking and the ability to track progress towards milestones while understanding events at a detailed level.
