Marketing Campaign Planning Executive
Salary: £26,000 to £35,000 plus bonus and benefits
Location: Central London, typically twice a week for training and collaboration. But can be flexible on this

If you are looking to carve a career in data driven marketing, and want an impressive employer name on your CV, recognised for excellence in this space, you’re in the right place.

You’ll be joining a national retailer, working in a department who works with their third party partners. Each are major consumer brands, and you’ll be supporting them in the creation of campaign and media plans designed to achieve their commercial objectives.

There’s around 30 different channels and include in-store, online, app, email, out of home and a ton of others.

The work begins with the brief. This will come from the company’s internal client services team who work directly with the end brand. You’ll be interpreting this and challenging certain aspects to ensure it’s really well defined.

You’ll then begin looking at various sources of data to bring together a campaign proposition for that brand. Presenting it back and answering questions around why you’ve proposed what you have. Ensuring the brand owner is in agreement it satisfies their needs and gain their approval to move forward.

You will then pass forward the campaign and media plan for execution.

At this point the client and campaign services team will move into action. Bringing these campaigns to life, executing across the mix of channels you’ve defined within your plan.

Where can this role go in the future?

Members of this team have often been promoted quickly, and moved into other teams within the business including client services, to get experience in campaign delivery. Also data and insight teams, because this role involves a lot of emphasis on digging into data to draw conclusions, plans and strategy from.

Another aspect which really supports this is the company’s investment to learning and development. In recent years they’ve made great strides towards innovating in this area and providing a platform for people to enable them to grow their skills and knowledge quickly.

It’s something which has helped a lot of people to gain recognition and promotions quickly, even in an environment which still involves a lot of home based working opportunities – something a lot of business have been challenged with, certainly with those early in their career development.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Ideally some relevant commercial experience where you’ve had to work with data to draw conclusions and pull together plans
  • Experience in a retail or shopper marketing environment could be useful
  • As would experience in media and campaign planning
  • A real interest in marketing and developing a career within a data driven marketing environment
  • Solid numerate skills underpinned by education
  • Good project management skills, comfortable juggling multiple briefs at once
  • Good communication skills and great with dealing with people
