Role: Copywriter - Cybersecurity
Location: Office in London Victoria, but can be fully remote
Remuneration: £25-30k base + package + discretionary bonus

Malware, Emotet, Denial of Service attacks, Man in the Middle, Phishing, SQL injection and Password Attacks make up seven of the most prevalent threats in cyber security today.

Every day you read or hear about a hack or data loss by another big firm. With millions of records compromised and your iPhone pinging you to let you know you’ve got to go change all your passwords once again for something different and unique.

It’s an ever growing issue and threat to todays businesses. Especially those where data is their lifeblood.

Today’s CEO’s, CTO’s, CIO’s and CDO’s likely all have at least a degree of angst about data security, information integrity and how advances in technology and emerging trends threaten the security of their company and customer data. After all, they’re only one bored computer literate 13 year old in their bedroom away from losing millions of customer records because someone didn’t prioritise investment in the right security software.

As a copywriter with an interest in this field, you’ll be producing all forms of copy on behalf of a couple of high profile businesses well established in the cyber security field.

This will include blogs, case studies, white-papers, social media posts, website copy, product collateral and lots, lots more. All in the support of marketing activities these companies are delivering covering lead and demand generation, lead nurturing and in-life customer communications programmes.

You’ll actually be working directly for these companies’ agency. They’re a rapidly scaling B2B demand and lead generation agency who have multi-year retainer engagements in place with a number of UK and US based companies.

The agency itself has identified huge demand in the UK and US SaaS industries for growth, and has created a business to help satisfy it. The demand for their services has been huge, achieving P&L positive results in its first year without the need for any external funding.

You will be involved with client marketing teams directly. Understanding their marketing objectives and helping to shape ideas and thinking around what kind of copy needs creating. Then researching both the personas you’ll be targeting the piece too, what the hot topics are for them and creating the piece, ready for client review.

Once approved, you will support the execution side. For example, if it’s for a website or micro-site, you will upload the copy as well in ensure the tracking is in place to ensure its performance can also be measured in the campaign.

Over time you will be helping to create a repertoire of content which has ever-green use, and be responsible for updating and adapting it for use in future campaigns. Enabling rapid turnaround on some projects, since most of the original work is just requiring repurposing.

This is a great opportunity and chance to join a company that’s growing fast and delivering excellent quality work. One thing this company prides itself on is creativity and ingenuity. They’re building a solid reputation for this with their existing clients and it’s leading to them winning more and more new business too.

There’s going to be scope for personal development and challenge as you find your role evolves as the agency does too. So will offer personal growth for the future too.

What we’re looking for in you

  • Copywriting and content creation experience, ideally with experience in cyber security space. Or at least an interest in the subject matter. But must have B2B/SaaS copy creation experience as a minimum
  • You know how to make exciting and engaging marketing copy across multiple formats – both long and shortform
  • You understand how to put yourself in the customer’s shoes – e.g. create and write for personas with the customer in mind
  • Great storytelling skills in the copy you produce
