Role: Marketing Manager, TV
Location: Andover, Hampshire - 2 days in office, 3 days from home likely mix.
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 (based on experience)

You’ll be principally responsible for handling the company’s TV adverts, which are all direct response focused. It’s a pretty important channel for the business, only really rivalled by digital in terms of lead generation and acquisition of new customers.

You will be given a pretty healthy eight figure budget to play with too. But will need to ensure it’s well spent. Optimising the company’s media strategy, owning responsibility for targeting and planning, and that campaigns are delivering value based around CPA rates and ROI.

Naturally, creative and shooting the ads will be a part of your role. But to be candid, the bias will be more towards analysis and optimisation. Looking at media strategy and planning across channels and responding quickly to changes and fluctuations in metrics. Making sure no budget is wasted, and it also connects well with cross-channel marketing strategies to deliver the required outcomes.

Your report line will be to the Head of Marketing, and there’s a wider marketing team who handle different aspects of the marketing mix as well as lifecycle marketing.

There’s a couple of agencies working with you on this programme. Helping across creative and production, as well as media planning and buying, as well as effectiveness.

About the business

In just 6 years this company’s gone from start-up to market lead within its particular niche. Their business is continuing to scale at pace, which is why they’re scaling their marketing investment so much looking ahead to 2022.

It’s this scaling in spend which is driving their continued hiring. As they need more specialist support to own strategic and tactical channels like this. To give them a proper focus and ensure results are delivered to.

It’s still a family owned and run business, so don’t expect anything corporate. But you will find you have a really supportive and inspirational manager in the Head of Marketing. Someone who really understands the mechanics of direct response marketing and will be a great champion for your work.

So if you’re interested in joining a place where you’d be more than just a cog within a production line, why not give this a try?

Key experience necessary

  • Direct response marketing specialism, with a good knowledge of DRTV, notably the ability to really dig into the performance side and optimisation of the channel
  • Media planning and strategy experience will be beneficial
  • Broader appreciation of acquisition marketing to include digital direct response channels
  • Great head for numbers, able to dig into performance results. Optimising a programme
  • Able to demonstrate you’ve worked with similar budgets before and love the opportunity to join a business which doesn’t have a lot of red tape. But does have a lot of potential growth ahead of it.

Must be able to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
