Job Title: Medical Science Liaison

Job Reference: JR 25480

If you’re either an experienced MSL with any therapeutic background or an aspirant to the discipline with a strong background in psychiatry or CNS and you’d like to hear about a great role with a small, highly dynamic niche pharma I’d love to hear from you.

Our client is an EU headquartered specialist pharma.  They are a well established research organisation who have recently built and implemented a commercial organisation to launch a number of novel drugs for unmet needs.

With a focus on an already successfully launched drug dependency product this role is a classic example of the role of MSL.  You’d be working a member of a small, specialised and very high calibre medical team.  Working under the leadership of a very well qualified and experienced medical director and alongside a highly experienced MSL / Medical Affairs professional.  The focus of activities for the entire team is field based with a strong element of insight gathering and non promotional relationship building with customers / KOLs.

As a small company and team the responsibilities of the role are broad and include;

  • To provide field-based non-promotional medical and scientific support for the business, with the aim of providing high quality, accurate and timely scientific advice to healthcare professionals regarding the company’s products and associated disease area(s).
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of strategic planning by providing medical insight and applying expert knowledge about the product and/or disease area.
  • To identify, develop and maintain credible relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic centres.
  • To function in a non-promotional capacity for 100% of the time spent in role.
  • The role holder would act as a final signatory if they are qualified to perform in this function (i.e. UK registered pharmacist or GMC registered medic)

We could consider applicants from a range of backgrounds.  The ideal profile would be;

  • UK registered pharmacist or GMC registered medic
  • Strong background in Psychiatry
  • Existing role as a field based medical affairs professional

As a baseline we can potentially consider aspirants to industry.  For those applicants without prior industry experience the following are essential;

  • A thorough understanding of the role of the MSL and demonstrable evidence of what you’ve done to gain that understanding and secure a position so far.
  • Genuine strength in psychiatry
  • There would be a strong preference for someone with final signatory potential though PhD qualified aspirants could be considered if their academic background is in drug dependency.

This is a genuinely great opportunity for the right person;

  • An exciting, ethical and heavily research based company with a dynamic, entrepreneurial commercial culture
  • A fantastic Medical team
  • Working with products that have the potential to transform patients lives for the better.
  • Very strong ongoing development opportunities

*MUST HAVE NECESSARY VISA'S TO WORK IN THE UK*
