Global Sourcing Director UK Home Based Overview: A global speciality pharmaceutical business, who have successfully achieved continuous significant and sustained growth, are looking for a Global Sourcing Director to support their work in supplying medicines globally. Working closely with the Account Management and Business Development teams, you will be working as the dedicated Global Sourcing Director, developing and maintaining HCP relations and responsible for the procurement/buying and supply of new products from wholesalers or manufactures. Providing a bridge to the gap in medical supply globally. Job Title: Global Sourcing Director Salary: c.£70,000 - £77,000 Benefits: Bonus up to 20% annually, Holidays: 27, Pension: 4.5% matched Location: UK Home Based – flexibility to travel to the office The key responsibilities for this role are: Continuous proactive review and analysis of existing suppliers, proactively identifying new products and new supplier opportunities Monitoring customer requests (HCP’s, Pharmacists, Regulatory Agencies), industry news and trends, and considering on demand and short-term solutions to medicine supply shortages and product discontinuation Working collaboratively with the business to share new trends, market intel and new product/supplier opportunities Using internal market intelligence to scope out new markets for Business Development activities, potential suppliers and HCP’s in need of support Responsibility for identifying in demand products and target suppliers to source pharmaceuticals for global unlicensed supply Requirements Educated to degree level in pharmacy, pharmacology or related chemistry degree. Degree qualification in Pharmacy is highly desirable (experience working within a hospital pharmacy environment is advantageous) Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, in multiple geographies, in Portfolio or Product Management, Market Access, Commercial/Business or Supply Management Pharmaceutical product expertise: up to date knowledge of medicines and pharmacotherapy, pharmaceutical pricing, generic prescribing (including biosimilars), familiarity with dosage forms/presentations and understanding of routes of administration Proven financial and commercial acumen Experience in building account relations, internal and external stakeholder engagement and demonstrable skill in understanding technical information Please only apply to this role if you have the right to work in the UK along with the relevant experience.
