Customer Engagement Manager / Account Manager

This global specialty pharmaceutical business, who due to successfully achieving significant and sustained growth, has newly created roles of Customer Engagement/Account Manager. Within this role, you will be working to provide Clinical Trial Supplies to a wide range of pharmaceutical, academic, and service companies. This will help keep up with increasing demand from their wide-ranging customers and provide you with a rewarding role now and in the future as they help you further develop your skills and experience.

Salary: c.£55,000
Benefits: Bonus up to 15% annually, Holidays: 27, Pension: 4.5% matched
Location: Surrey

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for account managing a portfolio of global clients – mainly pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations, as well as CROs and Academia Research Organisations.
  • You will develop and implement account management plans, which will aim to deepen and broaden the current account relationships.
  • Working cross-functionally with colleagues, you will source comparator drugs for clinical trials for clients. You will ensure at all stages that clinical trial supplies are provided on time, within client budgets and meeting all regulatory and QA standards.
  • You will provide mentoring support to junior colleagues within the team, which may involve formal line management.
  • Due to some of the larger clients that you will be managing being outside of the UK, you may at times have to travel abroad for face to face meetings with specific clients.


  • You will be educated to degree level, ideally within a science-based subject.
  • You MUST have at least 3 years’ experience within a CRO, CMO, Clinical Trials management, or pharmaceutical company.
  • You will have proven experience in Account/Client Management.
  • You will be used to working with cross-functional colleagues, building internal relations.
  • You will additionally have strong communication skills and an ability to engage external stakeholders.
  • You may not have direct line management experience currently, but you will be keen on taking on mentoring responsibilities and potentially even line management responsibilities.
