Job Title:             PR & Events Manager

Location:             Central London

Salary:                  £30,000 to £36,000 (based on experience)

Benefits:             Company socials, Netflix subscription, pension, healthcare plan, and other unique benefits

So far you’ve not been given the chance to spread your wings. You’re missing the autonomy and find your ideas held up by layers of bureaucracy.

You started a career in PR and communications because you love to tell stories. You’re adept at taking things happening in a business, seeing the public interest angle and crafting it into attention grabbing stories. Using them to raise a company’s profile, shape a narrative and, in turn, influence behaviour and thinking.

If only you had the big boss’ ear.

What if you worked somewhere autonomy was celebrated? Where there was no corporate B.S. No rulebooks to follow with the a-z of how to get things done. Where you were able to call the shots, to come up with ideas and see things through?

Joining this tech start-up, you’re also going to have the ear of the CEO, CMO and CCO, with newsworthy stories come from all areas of the business, with you orchestrating things. Putting in place some sort of order. Researching opportunities, working with partners and external agencies to help bring these stories to life and make them ‘newsworthy’ so key media will pick up and run with them.

The firm has opened a number of revenue streams which has enabled them to push back their next round of funding, whilst also doubling their headcount so far this year to 50. They’ve also won an award in 2019 for being the best tech start-up to work for.

You’re going to love being the one coming up with concepts and ideas. To approach things with a hackers mindset and no corporate rule book to follow which stifles creative thinking.

You’re going to be given the autonomy to put your skills, experience and raw talent in storytelling and PR to good use, helping this firm raise their profile and improve brand awareness.

You’ll be the person in charge of PR and events, and be part of a small but growing team of 8. Your report line will be direct to a member of the C-Suite.

In addition you will be coming up with an events plan for the firm. Initially they’re thinking about hosting their own events for key target audiences and opinion leaders. But this will be your baby to run with. You will come up with the plan and concepts for this. Including understanding how to derive an ROI from them. As well as helping to identify and define the future event roadmap as things grow. So whether that includes sponsorships and stand presences at relevant trade shows, or something else. The direction is wide open and up to you to help shape and decide.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • You’re a sharp cookie who cut your teeth in PR, Comms & Events within the B2B space and have a personal interest in technology – notably digital tech-based businesses
  • You get how to connect with audiences, finding the newsworthy angle in the stories you create and what will resonate
  • You can probably pull off a fantastically successful event with just £500 by using your initiative and creative problem-solving skills
