Job Title:             PR & Events Manager
Location:
             Central London
Salary:                  £30,000 to £36,000 (based on experience)
Benefits:             Company socials, Netflix subscription, pension, healthcare plan, and other unique benefits

You probably love what you do in the PR and Events world and are really looking for that right next opportunity to shine. Somewhere autonomy is celebrated. Where you can put your ideas into action and bring them to life. Somewhere fun with a real mission behind it.

A place without lots of rules and corporate guidelines, and where you have the ear of the senior leadership team. So you can be agile and react quickly to things, come up with concepts and ideas, have them listened to by those who can make decisions, and really enjoy what you do.

Joining this tech start-up, you’re going to be reporting directly into one of the C-suite leaders and be the person in charge of their PR and events programme. Currently the marketing division is a small, but growing, and is a team of 8.

The firm has opened a number of revenue streams which has enabled them to push back their next round of funding, whilst also doubling their headcount so far this year to 50. They’ve also won an award in 2019 for being the best tech start-up to work for.

Newsworthy stories and promotional opportunities can arise from all areas of the business. Your job will be to orchestrate things, putting in place some sort of order and process, as well as coming up with your own PR and event concepts.

You will have the autonomy to put your skills, experience and raw talent in storytelling and PR to good use, helping this firm raise its profile and improve brand awareness. Also putting them into relevant awards programmes and coming up with novel ideas and ways to raise the brand.

Putting in the research to flush out stories and get data to support their positioning. Working with partners and external agencies to help bring these to life and make them ‘newsworthy’ so key media will pick up and run with them.

There’s going to be a decent amount of variety here, as in addition will be the events programme. Something they’re thinking about how to establish right now. So will be looking to you to give some thought and guidance on how to build a programme which gives a decent ROI and helps to achieve broader commercial and marketing objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • You’re a sharp cookie who cut your teeth in PR, Comms & Events within the B2B space and have a personal interest in technology – notably digital tech-based businesses
  • You get how to connect with audiences, finding the newsworthy angle in the stories you create and what will resonate
  • You can probably pull off a fantastically successful event with just £500 by using your initiative and creative problem-solving skills
