Job Title:             PR Manager
Location:
             Central London
Salary:                  £30,000 to £38,000 (based on experience)
Benefits:             Company socials, Netflix subscription, pension, healthcare plan, and other unique benefits

If you’re looking for an opportunity to shine, somewhere autonomy and creativity is celebrated. Somewhere fun with a real mission behind it, you will likely get a thrill helping this start-up raise their brand profile through building a broad PR and event programme, looking to leverage these as part of their marketing mix to continue their rapid growth.

You’ll be joining a tech start-up – a firm that’s doubled their headcount this year, taking them to 50, and have won an award for being the best tech start-up to work for.

There’s lots of good news stories to tell too, with the firm identifying and bringing to market a number of new revenue streams which have been so successful, they’ve been able to push back the need for their next round of funding.

You’re going to be reporting directly into one of the C-suite leaders and be the person in charge of the PR and events programme. Currently the marketing division is a small, but growing, and is a team of 8.

This is a place without lots of rules and corporate guidelines, and where you have the ear of the senior leadership team. So you can work agile and react quickly to things, coming up with concepts and ideas, have them listened to by those who can make decisions, and putting into action quickly.

Newsworthy stories and promotional opportunities can arise from all areas of the business. Your job will be to orchestrate things, putting in place some sort of order and process, as well as coming up with your own PR and event concepts.

You will have the autonomy to put your skills, experience and raw talent in storytelling and PR to good use, helping this firm raise its profile and improve brand awareness. Also putting them into relevant awards programmes and coming up with novel ideas and ways to raise the brand.

Putting in the research to flush out stories and get data to support their positioning. Working with partners and external agencies to help bring these to life and make them ‘newsworthy’ so key media will pick up and run with them.

There’s going to be a decent amount of variety here, as in addition will be the events programme. Something they’re thinking about how to establish right now. So will be looking to you to give some thought and guidance on how to build a programme which gives a decent ROI and helps to achieve broader commercial and marketing objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • You’re a sharp cookie who cut your teeth in PR & Comms within the B2B space and have a personal interest in technology – notably digital tech-based businesses
  • You’ve likely also been responsible for coming up with a number of events and pulling them together in the corporate world – sourcing venues, arranging guest lists, speakers, corporate entertainment, etc.
  • You get how to connect with audiences, finding the newsworthy angle in the stories you create and what will resonate
  • You understand how to earn media coverage through carefully crafted press releases and media stories. Able to point to the value they’ve brought to a business
