Role: Product Manager, Connected Home & IoT
Location
: Central London
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 (based on experience)
Benefits: 10% on target bonus, 10% pension, 25 days annual leave and flexi-bens package plus lots more.

The Connected Home has been a rapidly developing eco-system. With everything having apps and the ability to remote control from anywhere in the world… when was the last time you needed to turn on your washing machine whilst you were sat in a board meeting somewhere in Salford? You probably haven’t – but the Internet of Things means you can…

But have you stopped and thought just how much modern life depends on a decent data and broadband connection?

Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Life, BBC iPlayer, ITV Player or YouTube – powering your Alexa or Google Home Assistant so it can tell you the weather tomorrow in Malaga… helping you upload your 300 selfies to Insta… jump on that Amazon Lightening Deal for next day delivery, or just tell Hive to turn the boiler on as it’s getting a bit cold…

God forbid, it fails and you end up having to speak to the strangers you live with called ‘your family’… But like BT said back in the 90’s – it’s good to talk… and didn’t you know, the combination of your mobile, home phone and broadband is joining forces to create something new and powerful.

The Opportunity

As the Product Manager for this area, you will be responsible for defining the product vision and roadmap for a ‘Connected Home’ solution which connects these 3 together. Creating the next generation of in-home and on-the-go products which converge Mobile, Home Phone and Broadband with connected home services.

Your roadmap isn’t limited by those within this company’s stable either. The Connected Home eco-system is a rich and quickly evolving one. So you will be working with other innovative tech firms, establishing complimentary features to their products which will enrich customers lives.

The key to success will be the marrying of technology capability with customer needs, and the art of the possible. To deliver exceptional customer experiences and genuine solutions to business problems and opportunities too.

If you love emerging tech, and have a knowledge of mobile, fixed line telephony or broadband products – this could be a match made in silicon heaven.

Key experience necessary

  • Knowledge of Broadband, Mobile, fixed line consumer telecoms
  • Typical product management type background – Spotting commercial opportunities matched to customer needs, and you know your way around doing a commercial business case
  • You’ve likely worked with technology partners or 3rd party providers bringing to market collaborative products
  • Great influencing skills and can bring people onboard with your vision and ideas for exciting new products and commercial opportunities – with evidence of successfully launching new products to market
