How many people have you seen this week using phones with broken screens?

As technology advances, and consumers expect ever more complex devices with higher resolutions, better cameras, embedded fingerprint scanners, gesture controls, etc. The costs to repair will continue to spiral. By example, it’s around £222 to replace the screen of a Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and £326.44 for an iPhone XS Max…

So it’s no wonder there’s so many broken screens around!

Are you one of these people? - trying to make out what this ad says through a mix of dead pixels and unresponsive touch display?

As the Product Manager for Device insurance propositions, your remit will be the build and launch a range of new service solutions which align to customer needs across the device care space.

Marrying together market trends and consumer insight to identify commercial opportunities. Establishing the business case and taking them through the development process to bring to market. Ensuring there’s a great customer experience at all touchpoints from purchase to in-life.

In addition, you will be also managing the in-life of existing products and services. Handling the promotional opportunities, tweaking key value drivers to improve both product performance and achieve P&L objectives.

Get this right, and you could create a suite of product insurance propositions which reduce the amount of plasters used by sliced fingers sliding on fractured screens. A stolen or lost device becomes just a temporary inconvenience, rather than feeling like you’ve lost your right arm… and people with this insurance protection won’t be afraid to drop their trousers in the bathroom with their phones in their back pocket anymore…

Key experience necessary

  • Product or Propositions Management experience – handling the end to end from ideation to go to market
  • Also experience of handling in-life – driving commercial objectives to achieve P&L targets
  • Good focus on the customer experience, ensuring high NPS scores and CSATs from the products/props
  • Insight led – good eye for data, able to draw conclusions and identify opportunities from leveraging it
  • Experience within service industry environment ideal – can be telco, banking, insurance, utilities, etc.
  • Must be able to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
