Product Manager – Oncology, Commercial Medicines – Pharmaceutical Industry

Surrey/South West London OR Staffordshire 

Overview:

Working with a global pharmaceutical business to successfully support its rapidly growing Oncology portfolio. You will work within the Commercial Medicines division across the Oncology products category and be responsible for the UK market. This Product Manager position is varied, exciting a and critical role supporting the day to day management, strategy and success. The role joins at an exciting time with an ever-increasing portfolio of products including some upcoming, game-changing launches across the business.

Job Title: Product Manager 

Salary: c.£35’000 - £40’000

Benefits: Bonus up to 15% annually, Holidays: 27, Pension: 4.5% matched, flexible benefits

Location: Surrey/South West London or Staffordshire

This is a rare and exciting opportunity that has arisen due to the expansion of the existing portfolio. Within this role, you will be able to utilise your skills of negotiation, tactical planning, sales and marketing, project management and budgeting, forecasting and analysis.

The key responsibilities for this role are:

Product Portfolio Management

  • Track product performance against specified KPIs reporting on difference/variances and developing plans to address where required
  • Work in positively in conjunction with Supply Chain and through the S&OP process to ensure robust demand plan forecasts are available to maintain continuity of supply and minimize out of stocks
  • Work closely with the internal cross-functional team to ensure appropriate plans are in place
  • Respond to tenders (ITTs) for products in the portfolio as required
  • Track pricing and discounts, ensuring these are accurate and maintained about customer service and finance
  • Supporting contract negotiation with new or existing partners or distributors
  • Management of sales and marketing expenditure as approved in the budget
  • Identification of new opportunities including new indications, new presentations and new territories
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in support, customer service and other functions that have a direct impact on the delivery of stated objectives for the Oncology portfolio
  • Research and anticipate external factors affecting the products in the portfolio by remaining up to date on all external developments within the areas such as legislation, the customer base and wider payor environment

Required Experience:

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Preferably Oncology (if not, we would consider experience gained within a highly competitive market segment)
  • Product/Commercial Management experience – Associate level accepted
  • Experience with sales rep (ideally UK/Europe) – linked to the external stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to drive positive financial results for one or more products by working collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues
  • Preferably tendering experience including pricing negotiations
  • Multiple languages would be of significant interest
  • Must be willing to travel
