Senior BI / Data Engineer

** Fin-tech / Insurance Start-Up **

THE COMPANY

This business offers personalised insurance through their App, working to disrupt the insurance market and make it digitally native. Their product will make people start caring more about their insurance.

Along with their household-name clients in the automotive industry, they have recently partnered with one client to launch an innovative service in pay-as-you-drive insurance and have secured an exclusive agreement with an automotive giant to white label their direct insurance offering.

The role reports directly into the CTO and is the first of its kind within this rapidly growing fin-tech start-up (currently 30 strong).

A comprehensive background in BI / Data Engineering is required, with solid skills working in the AWS ecosystem and using AWS data services (Redshift, RDS, Lambda, EC2). Significant experience designing and implementing automated data processing systems, ideally using Extract, Load and Transform (ELT) strategies. Experience designing data models for analytical querying, with familiarity with star schemas and other data warehousing techniques. Strong knowledge of and experience with data processing languages and approaches (e.g. Python, SQL, Spark, DBT, Typescript). Experience with setting up and maintaining reporting packages (e.g. Tableau, Looker).

You will need to be a self-starter, commercially minded, with the ability to spot opportunity for adding value to customers and partners through data products, services, and analysis projects. Ultimately, this is a fantastic opportunity for an intellectually curious, bright, ambitious Data Analyst, keen to be part of this challenger brand and a growing data team.
