Senior Data Scientist

** National Retailer **

CLIENT

This brand new role sits within the Customer Insight unit of a recognisable national retailer, reporting into the Lead Data Scientist. A recent restructure also includes the creation of a new Senior Level role - Chief Digital and Data Officer, demonstrating a commitment to becoming more data centric.

ROLE

This role will be working amongst a small, but rapidly growing, team of Data Scientists on a variety of advanced predictive analytics and modelling projects employing techniques such as NLP, computer vision and heat mapping in line with taking the business to a truly digital positioning, and online with their overall strategy to become a 'digital first' business.

Technically they have also just invested in Microsoft Databricks, moving away from what is currently a predominantly SAS environment, so experience with this tool would be ideal but training will be provided if not. Outside of this they of course employ R and Python, as well as SAS, but the latter is being phased out as we speak.

The business recognise they need to become truly data centric and customer first in terms of all their decision making, and this is where this roles comes in.

Recent projects include predicting the impact of their store closure programme, building customer attributes to improve loyalty marketing and further predictive analytics around customers to build a personalisation engine.

So we are looking for someone who can demonstrate a true understanding of data science, the nuts and bolts beneath the surface of the analysis and an interest in constantly pushing to improve output and insights delivered.

This is a really exciting time to join a business which is going through transformational change, in a positive way; embracing data and all its value.
