Role:  Senior Designer – Digital  – Beauty/Skincare brand
Location: London offices, visit a couple of times a week
Salary: £40,000 to £47,000 base
Benefits: Discretionary bonus, pension, product discounts and more

The first thing to highlight here is this role isn’t just restricted to digital design. It’s also going to include some offline elements like POS, packaging design and the likes. But more on this later.

If you like to be busy and enjoy design environments where the work is fast paced with quick turnarounds but remains really high quality, you’re in the right place. As this beauty brand is just that, with projects with turnaround times varying between 2 weeks down to just 2 days. In fact, the environment is really similar to what you might find in a design agency, but will be in-house, working directly for the end brand.

It’s just a well-oiled machine which functions day-to-day really effectively and collaboratively.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The team have a clear project management workflow and have things down to a fine art. Once you know this business and brand are, you will probably also likely not only recognise their work, but also just how creative and high quality it is too.

The business is a luxury beauty brand with a very British heritage. One which is well represented within most of the World’s luxury spa chains, as well as through retail and online sales channels too.

Their branding is elegant, simple and classy. Their creative approach echoes and amplifies this.

It’s a relatively small team of 4 and being the senior designer, you will have project support supplied by a shared resource junior designer.

As the Senior, you will be expected to self-manage tasks - creating digital assets for both the Global and UK market teams. The briefs will be varied including asset creation for web banners, digital newsletters, social media (including motion video and Gifs) as well as PDP’s.

On top of this will be the occasional need to provide support for offline design projects. These arise as the team works highly collaboratively, each member able to provide project support when needed.

If a colleague is on holiday, and something needs fixing for packaging design or a new POS, you’ve got to be the kind of person who doesn’t mind mucking in to get it done. Similarly, whilst you might be off enjoying a some fun and relaxation in the sun, you know the team back home are pulling together and providing cover for you too.

As a unit, they’ve built up a wide array of beautiful designs and templates which help speed up some of the work. Making life easier, and the ability to turn around assets much more effective. This said, there will be opportunity to have creative input too.

If you love this kind of thing and are confident you’ve got the right stuff to succeed, apply now – and please don’t forget to include a copy of your portfolio of work. We’re looking for a good array of different digital mediums, both graphic and motion based (animations/gifs, etc.).

EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

  • Evidenced experience of doing similar to the above on behalf of a fast-paced retail, luxury brand, beauty, cosmetic or skincare brand
  • At least mid-weight design skills, looking to move into Senior, if you’re not already there
  • As a digitally savvy individual, you know what’s going on in the world of social, and what’s on trend on TikTok
  • Experience leading and managing digital creative output, creating assets
  • Some experience with offline projects like POS, package design, etc. would be useful – certainly you understand how to get something designed and set up ready for print production
  • Completely fluent with the Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Flash, Illustrator
  • Also a good base knowledge on After Effects and Premier Pro
  • Collaborative working style, inclusive and very comfortable working in a small, close knit team
  • Can demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality outputs to tight deadlines and fast turnarounds.
