A firm who might be something of a ‘new kid on the block’ when competing with the McCann’s and Wavemakers in the area for digital talent. But absolutely dwarf them in terms of scale and brand power.

They’re no stranger to the digital economy, and through this new venture are looking to establish a new digital hub as part of a completely new service offering they’re providing to the SME market.

Helping businesses engage with the digital media landscape and various tools available, including paid social, PPC and display advertising, as well as some other proprietary solutions which are still under wraps can really help their own business growth.

Elements of this unit will be similar to a digital media agency. But one which will gain advantage because of the connections to businesses this firm already has, and some of the added value solutions they’re able to bring together from their wider suite of offerings.

Your role will be similar in some aspects to what you might see in agency land with roles which have a business development aspect to them. Pitching digital marketing capabilities and services to prospects.

That said, where this role differs is ‘you eat what you kill’.

As in - Once you land a client, you will become their account manager too. Sticking with them through their journey with the business. You’ll be doing this as a subject matter support for paid media campaigns. So in reality, you will need to have some knowledge of either Paid Social, PPC or Display (one of them will be fine) to be able to engage with the client at the appropriate level and provide guidance.

This sales side of this role will be a mixture of warm and cold work. But there’s going to be a lot of support in the form of their marketing function. Who are delivering lead generation and inbound marketing campaigns.

This role carries a target, which is why there’s a generous bonus scheme of up to 30%. That target is largely centred around conversions.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Digital Media Sales experience will be ideal
  • You’ve got a good understanding of at least one of the following: Paid Social, PPC, Display – whereby you’d be comfortable advising a company on media strategy
  • Able to demonstrate experience in pitching and closing new business for digital media solutions
  • Ideally you’ll either have:
    • BD experience applied in a digital agency environment – pitching digital marketing capabilities
    • Background in sales, and have moved to a digital marketing environment – or vice versa.
