Senior Frontend Engineer (100% Home Working, Fully Remote - UK RESID|ENTS ONLY)
React / Typescript / CSS / Javascript / REST APIs / Frontend Engineer / Frontend Developer / Software Engineer / Software Developer 
 
This is a fantastic opportunity for an intellectually curious, bright, ambitious Frontend Developer / Engineer, keen to be part of this challenger brand and a growing technology team.
 
Would you be excited to join a disruptive insurance/insure-tech start-up? They are rethinking the way insurance is delivered to consumers, and are partnered with several global house-hold brands.
They are about to launch an innovative service in pay-as-you-drive insurance and have secured an exclusive agreement with an automotive giant to white label their direct insurance offering. 
 
They are looking for a talented Senior Frontend Engineer with several years of experience who can join the business as the "expert in the room" for all development solutions on the Frontend. You will have direct input on the Frontend architecture and strategy, taking ownership of their in-house UI component library and collaborating closely with the Full Stack and Backend engineers to help develop their APIs, with a focus on security, performance and maintainability. 
 
The role reports directly into the CTO and has the potential to move into a Head of Engineering position.
 
Location: You can be based anywhere in the UK. The role is 100% Fully Remote / Home Working. London / Manchester / Glasgow / Cardiff / Birmingham / Leeds / Southampton and everywhere in between.
 
You will be:

Essential skills:
 
Several years experience building highly-scalable and well-performing web applications.
Extensive knowledge of TypeScript and React.
Frontend state management using React hooks and contexts.
Familiarity with component-based design systems and CSS-in-JS.
Experienced working with REST APIs.
A good understanding of identity and session management.
Test driven development.
Git (or experience with a similar distributed source control system).
Strong problem solving skills for debugging issues throughout the entire stack.
Either a degree in computer science / software engineering / related discipline or several years experience in commercial software engineering.
 
Non essential skills / nice to have:
 
A background in the insurance sector
An understanding of Progressive Web Apps.
Experience with AWS, in particular for web-hosting.
Infrastructure as code, using tools such as Terraform or similar.
Familiarity with styled system and styled components.
Publishing JavaScript libraries as NPM packages.
Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (They use CircleCI).
Familiarity with server-side technologies including, Kotlin, Gradle, and Dropwizard.
Postgres 
Jira.
 
Salary is negotiable to a degree, dependant on your skills, experience and situation. As a guide, somewhere in the region of £65,000 - £85,000 p/a + package.
