This is an opportunity to join one of the top 10 media agencies in London. They’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong exposure to working with Google Cloud platforms in particular, providing data solutions for clients which are leveraged by BI, data visualisation and data science teams.

Reporting to the Data Director, this is a client facing role, advising on what is and isn’t possible. Managing expectations, advising on timelines and resource needs to achieve the desired outcomes. This will be working on Google Cloud and data from Doubleclick as well as log level data from GA360.

Ensuring data is in the appropriate format (ETL), with feeds scheduled and fully automated – so those teams are able to use it for various client projects.                                                                                             

This agency has got something of a reputation for having a particularly robust and cutting edge data function, supporting deep strategy and industry shaping decisions within the digital sphere. You won’t be aligned to any one client, instead working across the agency’s roster, which will give you a sense of variety of challenge and opportunity to gain experience working across a range of different sectors.

There’s also a clear path into team management within the next 12-18 months, with the agency recognising a need to grow this division further, and looking for you to take on the remit of building a team.

Key Points 

The role will offer hands-on experience with many of the agency’s large accounts, working, collaborating and developing effective operations across the company.

• Develop ETL in Big Query to ensure efficient access to useful data
• Access to clients and opportunity to travel
• Become a subject matter expert in Data Architecture
• Be seen as a subject matter expert in all things data engineering by a range of high profile consumer brand clients
• Train, mentor and develop junior members of the team, with a view to progressing into a formal line management remit

Based in the London office, the Senior Manager - Data Engineer will also have the opportunity to travel, working collaboratively and directly with clients, reporting to the Data Director.

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 (based on experience)

Qualifications

• Experience of ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes and their automation
• Experience working with Google Cloud
• Good knowledge of Big Query and working with Google Analytics Data
• Database design and querying – SQL, MySQL, PostgresSQL, Big Query
• Experience working with Digital and Media data would be a distinct advantage
• You’ve worked with Data Visualisation and Data Science teams, delivering data solutions which meet their needs
