Role: Senior Marketing Manager – Aspiring Head of Marketing (B2B)
Location: Central London
Salary: £70,000 to £85,000 plus bonus, pension, healthcare, life assurance and lots more.
Office/Home working: 2 days from office, 3 from home each week

Consider the difference a run up makes.

For example, did you know there’s two high jump World Records?

Javier Sotomayor of Cuba jumped 2.45m on the 27th July 1993 in Salamanca, and is the current World Record.

However, there is also a standing high jump World Record. This was set by Ray Ewry on 16th July 1900 at a height of 1.65m.

A clear run up gives a distinct advantage in what can be achieved, and that’s exactly what’s on offer.

As the move from Senior Manager to Head of Marketing has a clear path laid out ahead of you. All you’ve got to do is bring that drive and determination to succeed and it will be realised sooner than you think. We’re talking in a matter of months, not years.

Just help prove the working model, then it will be time to hire your team and move you up a level.

About the company

They’re a rapidly scaling tech firm specialising in robotic automation. They’ve been going for a few years and are about to close their Series B funding round which is in double digit millions. Certainly enough to see them through the next couple of years of growth.

Currently their market focus is UK, but this will be expanding internationally in the future.

They currently target their solutions to the life science industries, but the application of the automated solution has the potential to expand beyond this market too.

About the role

The wider marketing function is currently being scaled, and over the coming months will become a team of around 12 to 16 people. With you being one of the key business reporting to the VP of Marketing, ultimately responsible for lead and demand generation.

At the start, because of the size of the team in place, your role will be a mix of both strategy and tactical marketing. Creating the marketing plan and campaign calendar which will deliver the required MQL’s and SQL’s which convert into sales. Covering a broad range of marketing channels and disciplines, including events, white papers and thought leadership, sponsored content, webinars, case studies and digital media.

Aspiration for the marketing programme is to evolve it into Account Based Marketing (ABM). Currently, the company isn’t at the level of maturity and resource to support this. But as they have a clearly defined target audience, adapting their marketing strategy into this isn’t a big jump. Part of your marketing roadmap will be to bring in this approach and successfully implement it over the coming year or two.

As your role grows your remit will move from strategy and tactical, to more creating and selling the strategy for others in your team to do the tactical delivery.

You will become more aligned to creating the framework of what needs to be done and enabling your team to be successful in achieving their objectives.

So this is an opportunity with a future. One that’s bright and rewarding.

It’s time to stop trying to jump from a standing start and take the run up!

About you

  • Experienced B2B marketer with experience of both defining strategy as well as overseeing execution and delivery
  • Not afraid to get hands dirty to make things happen
  • Good knowledge of lead and demand generation marketing, including some knowledge of ABM and how to successfully implement it
  • Good eye for performance and results, with a keen test and learn ‘fail fast’ type of mentality
  • Experienced people manager and good with developing talent
