Job searching is a pain in the proverbial.

Job boards, networking, ATS systems, researching…. And this is before you’ve even landed an interview. It’s a full-time job.

Once you’ve landed an interview, if you’ve not done one in a while, you’ll find competency style questions a very alien way of conversing.

They say it can take on average 7 interviews before you start to master how to structure answers in a way which gets high scores.

It’s no wonder so many turn to online resources looking for help. With CV content and formatting, interview prep, career coaching, etc.

Let’s face it, 2021 has been somewhat awash with jobs and skills shortages. With more than 1.1m jobs posted between June to September this year alone.

So it’s a seriously good time to jump into the industry.

About the business

The last 18 months have been something of a boom time for this entrepreneurial professional services firm. As during the pandemic more and more people were turning to their services looking for jobs. In 2021, people and companies are doing the same, but this time looking to level up.

Now they’re on the lookout for a Senior Marketer to lead on both strategy and operational delivery of both their B2B offering, and well as a direct to consumer one.

You’ll be joining and managing a small team, reporting directly to the company owner. There’s a ton of autonomy in this opportunity, and the ability to test and trial new channels which you believe may deliver returns.

The business is one which acts as pace, and is led by an owner full of enthusiasm, drive and energy. With a really clear ambition to more than double over the coming 12-18 months.

About the role

On the B2B front they target businesses going through change. Offering a tailored range of solutions to match the needs and scale of support necessary for the affected workforce.

This ranges from career coaching, interview technique and CV writing support and is sold in volume.

A lot of the marketing of these services is via ABM (account based marketing) principals. As they have really clear understanding of who their prospect audience is by vertical markets, and are able to create and deliver content to each effectively.

A lot of what you’ll be creating and executing are both brand awareness as well as lead generation campaigns across a range of channels. Overseeing online through your Digital Marketing Manager, whilst being more direct in handling all offline ones yourself.

On the D2C side, they target audiences across the career spectrum who require support to help land the job of their dreams. This is all principally through digital media channels, with a heavy reliance on social media (LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram), both organic and paid. As well as PPC and SEO.

A growth area for them is the referral network, and this is something you’ll be looking to build upon. Both direct, and also through their sister firm. Who already have really strong connections to a diverse range of companies, and contacts established within the same kind of networks which will benefit this business too.

You’ll be in control of their lead generation marketing efforts for both audiences. Looking to ensure a consistent volume and value of leads which convert.

In addition, you’ll be responsible for the various toolkits which support the business development and sales teams. Such as marketing collateral, slide decks, etc. Plus oversight of RFP’s and tenders too.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Brand marketer with experience gained in a professional services environment
  • Cross-channel Lead generation marketing experience with knowledge of digital channels
  • Marketing leadership experience
  • Background can be either B2B or B2C, or both
  • Great writing skills for marketing collateral
  • Good eye for detail and digging into data to understand performance
  • Love a fast paced environment where there’s no red tape
  • Background from professional services, recruitment marketing or financial services industries would be ideal

Must be able to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
