Senior QA Manager (GMP / GDP)

Berkshire

£60,000 salary

If you’ve got a passion for pharma quality assurance gained over the course of a successful career in GMP and GDP environments and you’d like to hear about a really exciting QA leadership role I’d love to hear from you.

We’re working with a specialist life science industry service provider.  Historically they’ve been focused on the provision of clinical trials supplies services and have more recently been enjoying great success in building on that.  With additional offerings in packaging and labelling services as well as exciting new ventures in offering managed / early access services this company is enjoying significant, sustained growth.  They’re also enjoying success in international expansions with two sites outside of the UK.

The role we’re recruiting for is for a Senior QA Manager.  In essence the purpose of the role is very straightforward. Reporting to the Managing Director you’d be the most senior QA professional in the organisation and would have overall accountability for QA and the QA team.

The team is small.  You’d initially have management responsibility for two people in the UK. There would be additional leadership accountability for QA representatives at the two other locations (in the EU and US) in the form of providing technical leadership and mentoring.

You’ll absolutely know your stuff in pharma QA.  Specifically GMP (you don’t need to be a QP) and GDP . While you don’t need to be an RP as there are two in the business already RPs would be thoroughly appreciated.  If you want to pursue accreditation as an RP there would be opportunities for you to do so.

You’ll also have existing leadership skills although in principle you don’t absolutely need to have held a formal management role in the past.  If you haven’t you’d need to be able to demonstrate competencies in coaching, people development and performance management in a QA leadership type capacity.

As you’ll be the most senior QA employee in the company it’s essential that you have a well developed background in the discipline.  You’ll be highly experienced with QMS management, auditing and driving a great quality culture.  It’s expected that you’ll have gained this experience in successively more responsible and senior roles in QA.

As the company and team aren’t huge this is seen very much as a player / manager role and not a job for someone who isn’t prepared to roll their sleeves up.  You’ll still love technical QA work and will have a desire to keep working at the coal face as well as leading the team and providing strategic direction for the QA function.

It’s a pretty straightforward role and a pretty straightforward brief.

Please do apply if

  • You have a strong background in GMP and GDP QA
  • You’ve got great leadership skills, ideally gained in a formal leadership capacity
  • You’re drawn to small, growing entrepreneurial companies.
  • And you’ll be happy to take on a wide variety of tasks within QA as the company and role grows.

Please do not apply if

  • You don’t have a great pharma QA background
  • You want to transition from another GxP to GMP or GDP without having worked in these areas before.
  • You don’t have an existing right, or the ability, to live and work full time the in the UK.  This is a site based role and I regret that my client is unable to sponsor people for the purposes of a VISA.

What our client offers is a great opportunity to join  a business that’s flourishing and a team that’s growing.  You’ll be expected to be the key voice in how QA meets the business’s needs and will have full accountability for delivering that.  What goes with that is recognition, appreciation and respect and an opportunity to really make your mark.

It is also expected that as the company grows the role and the team will grow with it.  This would offer ongoing opportunities for technical, professional and career development

If you meet the requirements and you’d like to know more we’d love to hear from you.
