Job Title:             Technical SEO Manager
Location:             Home based for now - Post Covid, will need to be able to commute to a Central London office
Salary:                 £38k - £45k

How’s your employer fared during the pandemic?

Not all companies have struggled. In fact some have exceeded all expectations. This opportunity for example, is with a firm who’s gained 20% more clients now vs at the start of the original lockdown.

Your first thought to this might be “Maybe they were small to begin with?”

But they’re an international agency, and this team alone is made up of 20+ people, with an additional 5 hires on roadmap to deal with projected growth from clients they’ve got in pipeline and are confident in signing.

Those clients extend across a range of industries including some of the world’s biggest names in gambling, gaming and entertainment. Massive international retailers and huge beauty brands and more.

You’ll get the opportunity to work with them all. As they don’t silo people to individual accounts. This helps address one of the concerns of agency life, stability. So often when a client departs, most of that account team goes with it.

But in their set up, even if an account were to parts ways, your job remains secure as you shift your time to support other clients within the portfolio.

Plus you’ll have the ability to talk across industry on what best practice looks like. Lifting what works with one, and applying it with others so they can all enjoy the benefits. Whilst also skilling you up significantly too as being an industry agnostic search professional.

The Role

This is a technical SEO position. Hands on, dealing with things like SEO audits, and working with clients to improve and optimise SEO for both websites and mobile platforms.

Looking for ways to enhance organic search performance. Utilising Google Search Console and tools like DeepCrawl, AHrefs, Screaming Frog, Search Metrics, LinkResearchTools, etc. to measure and report on performance.

You’ll be client facing, regularly communicating and engaging to show, educate and gain approval for ideas and projects to be undertaken.

There’s going to be some more junior members of the team to support you, and looking to you as a subject matter expert to support them too.

Return to offices

Like most other firms, everything is being done remotely for the time being. That’s likely to be the case well into 2021 too. But they have their offices open for anyone who prefers to go in, but it is purely optional.

So if you’re struggling because you like that separation of work and home life, or maybe you miss the banter, or just don’t like working from a kitchen table and need somewhere with space, they have the option there for you. But the important thing is, it’s up to you.

That said, their offices are stunning. They’re owned, and very much in their image. Modern, creative, vibrant. The kind of place you’d be proud to walk into every day.

Key Experience

  • Good technical SEO skills - Confident with the use of various SEO tools (some of which listed above)
  • Great attention to detail – and your CV should also reflect this… i.e. no typo’s or grammatical mistakes. As an SEO expert with a fine attention to detail, you should be on top of that kind of thing
  • Good project management skills, and confident handling a client facing role. You’re likely well versed in delivering presentations to clients or internal stakeholders
  • Your experience can be from either brand/client side or agency environments

Although this will be remote for the time being, you’ve got to be able to live and work in the UK, and travel to London, once the Covid situation is over. They also can’t provide visa sponsorship, sorry.
