Role: SEO Manager
Location: London office, but can be remote with limited travel requirements to come to office.
Salary: £40,000 to £48,000 plus benefits

Let’s start with a couple of key selling points about why you might consider this opportunity against the wealth of others out there:

  • It’s a cash rich start-up who, despite still having funding rounds ahead of it to support their growth ambitions, is already revenue generating and P&L positive
  • Being a start-up, there’s a distinct lack of red tape. It’s also a really progressive environment with lots of autonomy and freedom to your role
  • With the hires they’re now making, they’re looking at going to the next level. This will mean this role will become a line management one in the near future.
  • The business is looking at growth through acquisition too, so there’s going to be a lot of growth potential ahead as they amalgamate those brands and offerings into their fold
  • Finally, although they have a London office. There’s no plans to go back just yet, and they’ve said it’s there if you need it. But otherwise they’re happy with remote. You’re likely to only need to go in as and when meetings are necessary in person. Or, if you prefer working from an office site.

As for the role itself, you’ll be reporting into the Head of Digital. Someone who’s something of an SME on all things SEO as that’s their primary background. In addition, there’s a team member who takes care of link building and a developer who handles your technical briefs and makes things happen.

So that leaves you handling the organic SEO. Working out the SEO strategy of what needs to be done to get volumes and rankings for the sites.

This will mean they keyword research, some elements of technical SEO, on site optimisation and looking into issues when they arise. Finding the appropriate solutions.

There’s a content team on hand who you’ll naturally be working very closely with, and as this is an international role, you’ve also got support of freelance SEO specialists when it comes to dealing with local optimisation for international markets.

You’ll work with the linkbuilders to ensure they’re targeting the right keywords, and monitoring performance to ensure it’s all performing as it should.

Overall, this is one of those opportunities with a ton of potential, in a business which has a lot of ambition, clear direction and strategy, and is willing to give you the chance to grow in role too as they grow.

So if you’ve got the drive and ambition to match, and are interested in securing a role in a firm with impressive credentials and is offering you the opportunity to move into a management role in the not to distant future. Why not put your hat in the ring for this one?

About you

  • Decent pedigree in SEO - agency or client side
  • You’ve done this in competitive markets (i.e. there’s a lot of competition for customer’s eyes on site)
  • Ambition met with ability, and a real interest in wanting to move from individual contributor role into a management one in the coming year or two
  • Got a mix of experience across organic and technical SEO
  • Able to get to London when needed. So will need to be living in the UK already
