This secured property lender facilitates the financing of property developments and refurbishments throughout the UK, and is contributing to the alleviation of the housing shortage. There is a great opportunity for you to now join the company as an Underwriter. You'll need around 5 years experience or more, specifically within the Development Finance space with experience of bridging loans, ground up development, lending for refurbishment or restoration. Loan values range from £250k to £10M.

Key responsibilities will include: 

• You'll work closely with Business Development Managers to manage and expand a portfolio of secured commercial real estate loans.
• Provide support from initial application and assessment through to legal closure.
• Provide support to assist in assessing new cases from customers and brokers to make informed underwriting decisions within set policies and criteria.
• You will manage the on-boarding of new borrower clients, with a strong focus on AML & KYC.
• Liaising with legal representatives and other professional advisors. 
• Management of loan accounts following legal close, particularly of development loans.
• Providing borrowers and internal management with regular updates throughout the process.
• Providing a high level of customer service.

To be the right person for the job you must have: 

• You'll need proven experience of the secured commercial real estate lending market, in an underwriting role with development finance and bridging finance experience.
• You'll need some experience in working with brokers and third party intermediaries.
• Excellent communication skills with good influencing and negotiation skills.
• The ability to work well under pressure and to set deadlines.
• You'll need to have good self motivation, self discipline and the ability to work without supervision.
• Good time management skills.
