Analytics Lead

Up to £75,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Do you love solving problems?

We are looking for someone to lead the technical approach and drive excellence across data solutions for this industry leading Retail data research firm. They use in-depth commercial understanding to uncover rich insights and data that powers success. 

About the role

The role requires a broad data science skill set. You will have a background in statistical analysis techniques, with capability across the core areas of data analytics, machine learning, modelling and forecasting, reporting and data visualisation.

Technical leadership

  • You will be accountable for the technical approach and methodology across all commercial data solutions and internal customer analytics
  • Identifying and delivering new or enhanced models and methodologies
  • You will help build expertise and capability across the data and analytics teams, and set the standard for quality

Commercial data solutions:

  • Looking after the data methodology and forecasting approach
  • Working with macroeconomic data, including the research, creation and forecasting of variables, and ways to integrate into content
  • Help to translate customer requirements into effective data solutions

Customer Analytics

  • Identify new approaches to drive insight from a Single Customer View. Supporting through predictive analytics, cluster based segmentation, propensity modelling
  • Recognise opportunities to use predictive analytics and forecasting to drive improved business performance metrics
  • You will manage the technical design, development and delivery of new data analytics tools

Skills

  • Degree in maths, statistics, economics, computer science, machine learning or similar.
  • Circa five years’ or more experience in a data science or analytics role
  • Knowledge of econometric modelling and softwares
  • Knowledge of building and deploying machine learning models
  • Familiar with a wide range of business intelligence and analytics tools
  • Advanced Excel and intermediate VBA (inputbox, for, while)
  • Coding abilities in Python and/or R and SQL
  • Power BI including both in the creation and deployment of online reports
  • Knowledge of digital analytics

They operate a hybrid approach to working with a mix of home and office-based working. Offices are based close to Watford.
