Commercial Account Manager, Ophthalmology - Pharmaceutical Industry

South West & South Wales


We are seeking an experienced salesperson to join a new and expanding commercial sales team with an ophthalmology specialist. This opportunity is entirely field based and largely independent, so it is important that you love travel and are confident in your ability to self-motivate within a highly target oriented environment.

With the Commercial Sales department only recently established and plans to launch several new products in 2020, this is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate and ambitious to really make an impact on the development of the business as a whole.

Job Title: Commercial Account Manager

Salary: Up to £40,000 dependent on experience

Benefits: Bonus: up to 30% annually

                Car allowance: £450 p/m

                Business car insurance

                Holidays: 25


Location: South West & South Wales

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Cold calling new clients and driving sales growth
  • Regularly meet with commercial ophthalmology specialists to pitch new and existing products from the eyecare portfolio
  • Build and maintain customer relationships
  • Maintaining consistently high levels of customer service while delivering on KPIs and development objectives
  • Must be flexible and able to travel to other UK territories if required to aid other members of sales staff

Required Experience:

  • Experience within the Optical industry and strong knowledge of opticians groups
  • Strong negotiation skills and business development/sales experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience of cold calling and building/developing relationships and networks
  • Desire to work in a heavily KPI driven environment
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, providing regular progress reports to senior staff
  • Proficient in the use of CRM software and Microsoft Office
